Just 2 months old and destroyed by careless driver (while parked at my house!) 😭

Around 9 p.m. last night , a careless young girl lost control of her KIA and nailed my Hybrid Mav .(parked in front of the house) in the left front corner-pushing it back and sideways at least 5 feet into the front yard. I can only hope it is not totaled -don't want to think of waiting a year for another. Here's hoping drivetrain is not toast , but it looks bad....Anyone have any opinions or experience? Here's the sad pics..

Well the good news is the supply is better, they do not take a year to get anymore. There are even some starting to show up in dealer stock, mostly cancelled orders.

And on a related note, if they do decide to repair it, OEM parts are also becoming more available. My repair (taking it in tomorrow) is not as extensive as yours, but the body shop preemptively checked on availability of parts and said they would have them within 3 days of ordering.

There could be alot to repair there. I would really talk it over with the shop about the electronics and any wiring harnesses damaged about the rebuild. You dont want electrical gremlins down the road because of rough splice jobs.

Just picked up by the wrecker-good news is she seems to be very capable of "running". Even with flat tire and bent steelie wheel pushed back into the wheel well, was still trying to pull itself up the flatbed wrecker. Pretty sad to watch.....I'm just too attached to my vehicles to not feel the pain.............at least all the electric systems seem to be still very active. Thanks for the comments.

If repaired- Make sure to fight for diminished value compensation from the gal's insurance company.

Driver was a 4 month pregnant young lady-she had insurance and kept apologizing-yes her car-it was only about 6 months old , so can't really blame the car this time-

Good point I had already thought about-even though this was my "retirement truck"- I am not one who trades cars often. Guess that's why my current "fleet" is only 9 vehicles now-lol.

Yikes! No one likes to see their car damaged especially the Maverick. I say that because it is such a unique vehicle and most here waited months to get theirs. Fortunately, no one hurt and it looks as though you'll have less of a wait for either a repair or a replacement Mav. Best of luck.

Ouch. Hate to see that. Good that no one got hurt, especially a young pregnant girl. Hope all goes well with the repair of both vehicles. Hard to tell for sure but that gap around the drivers side window & windshield seems pushed back and I "think" a computer box or something is in front of the drivers side front bumper/wheel if I remember correctly from older threads/post.

You sound like a very kind person and I hope all goes GREAT for your repair. Just to mention that when my Mini Cooper was rear-ended by an aptly named Dodge Ram, the hatch door was never quite the same again...even though recreated by pros. Be sure to check that the frame is okay.
