New recall today for 2022-2024 Mavs with Connected Touch Radios (CTR).

Potential impact: 144,516 vehicles

At least by the NTSHA web site, my 2022 Lariat is not impacted.

Software issue from Vendor can cause a memory leak, causing image to freeze. Ford and vendor reproduced the issue, software fix coming. While testing for camera issue they found four other "vurnerabilities".

To date, 2 accidents and no injuries.

The whole CTR infotainment system is a failure. I'm sure mine is on this recall list since I already received notice from CarFax about the recall.

The amount of times I've had to do the forced reset is ridiculous. Delayed reverse camera happens weekly. Freezes and pops from the audio weekly. USB stick reading malfunctions weekly. The Android audio screen freezes up occasionally (noticeable on long trips more so).

Just checked my FordPass app and it shows the recall. Rear camera has frozen on me twice but fortunately both times were when I was backing into the garage.

Same here with my '23 Hybrid. And this is exactly why I don’t trust a backup cam to do all the work. Call me old-fashioned, but turning my head still beats putting my faith in a screen that might just decide to nap when I need it most!

I'm in my 60's and find the backup camera very helpful. But unlike your assumption, I don't put all of my faith in anything.
And if your truck is moving and you can't tell that the image on the camera is not then I certainly don't have faith in your ability to see out of the windows. ;-) No offense intended.

I didn’t assume anything. My backup camera has frozen at least once too, so I know when it’s working and when it’s not. The fact is, technology is flawed—it’s not perfect, and it never will be. Unfortunately, there are people who rely entirely on their backup cameras while still being distracted by other things. Those are the folks this issue will likely affect the most. As for me, I still trust my own judgment—and, of course, I turn my head when necessary.

Still no recall have it for 3 months now, with 4,000 miles on it.

yet my Jan 24 built XLT not part of recall....yet my camera lags and freezes just as described and same what I experienced on my old 23 XLT.

what a joke.

Mine was built in Feb of 24 and it has the latest software version and it has locked up twice since bringing it home in May.

I got the recall notice today for my 23 hybrid from Carfax. That’s number 5 for me but the screen freezing is the only one that’s been an issue so far.

I don't think I have ever noticed it freezing, but I have avoided all updated and recalls so far. I have had problems with the CTR playing well with Android Auto and have had to reboot in the past, but lately it has been working well. One benefit of never updating is I still have the persistent backup cam feature where it stays on a little longer (not frozen). Maybe one of the updates results in the freezing, I'll keep an eye out for it.
