@Billy my dad has been going thru something similar. The VA diagnosed him with Parkinsons, caused by agent orange. He got his 100% disability last week. Its going to happen for you, just takes time...too damn much time unfortunately.

80 - 100 miles daily commute roundtrip M-F

I ordered a Maverick mainly for the fuel economy and price point.....still can't believe a 42 mpg truck can be ordered for $20K.

Driving a Ram HEMI currently and enjoying 13 MPG on a good day. Still cant believe my fuel economy is about to MORE THAN TRIPLE!!

I haven't ran the numbers yet...... but the fuel savings I will realize (versus the Ram HEMI) should be enough to FULLY pay for the Maverick in about 4 or 5 years.

For sure I wont be missing the $120 fill-ups that I am doing all too often......

The question more people should be asking themselves is NOT "Can I afford a Maverick?"

It is "How can I afford NOT to get a Maverick?"

All this talk gun line & navy stuff brought memory of once when we called for artillery we got about 10 groups of nine rounds in three groups of three that you draw a straight line through and at least seven of the rounds would be on the line with the "strays" being within 50-100 feet long or short. All of the ten were the same distance apart one after the other. We were about 10 miles from the coast. If that was from the navy, Thanks that made our day! Fred, the medic B/3/21. Nam 67-68.
Not Maverick related but more of a memory lane story.
I was on a DD sitting on the gun line lobbing 5" 54's when needed. With 3 mounts (1 fwd/2 aft) we could get off quite a few rounds with different trajectories so they land on the same spot at the same time. BOOM
Also served on a carrier doing flight ops while there and lost our share of pilots. Plus a tour on a ASR working salvage job of a Greyhound that went down. I remember when BB 62 was on the gun line a few mies outboard us but we could hear those 16" rounds when they headed to the beach, awesome sound and then a real BOOM. After those tours I spent the next 20 years riding submarines. I have more sea stories but for another day.:)

Just for fun -- what's everyone's age and occupation?

G'day Administrator. I'm a retired Teamster 3 weeks shy of my 63rd birthday. I recently had to "Retire" my '95 F150 XL to the local recycling yard. It was my first pickup and served me well. There was just too much body and frame rust to save it. Since I don't do nearly the amount of big projects that I used to and as a grand pop with 2 grand kids to tote around regularly the Maverick should be the perfect replacement. I'm looking forward to receiving my Oxford White Hybrid XLT with the lux pkg, moon roof, rear window & tonneau cover sometime in Feb/March. I have a Jan build week and a VIN so hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer. Truck On!

Airline guy now.

Will be using the Mav to get to and from the airport so I can deal with irrational people who act like children on airplanes.
Thank you for your service. Now you've bought a Mav and joined a club so you can deal with irrational people who act like children waiting on trucks.:sneaky:

I am guessing but I speculate we got 16" as we were, I think, about 14 miles from coast plus whatever the ship was off shore. Know very little about navy but got close for academy appointment about 58 years ago.
