I can't believe I'm asking a question about rims. I'm not a wheel guy. I could not care less what kind of rims came with this truck I bought a year ago.
Actually I like the steel rims.
Anyway, I bought a set of snow tires and then wanted a dedicated set of rims as I didn't want to take the tires off and on the rims each spring and fall. I thought they might look cool black too. I bought some used steel rims I made sure the hole pattern was 5 x 4.25" (108mm) I wire wheeled them, prepared the surface, spray painted them nicely and bought some tire pressure monitoring system valves that would work with the Maverick. Went to put the wheels on and they don't fit.
Rims hit the brakes before being able to mount.
Damn.
Put them up for sale - then started thinking about wheel spacers - which I didn't even know existed.
The offset of my used rims seems to be about 3" (76.2mm) - if the offset is the distance from where it mounts to the outside of the rim.
I've read the Maverick steely Wheels offset is 35mm (1 3/8"). Is that correct?
So do I need some 1 5/8" (~40mm) spacers?
"Hub centric" at 63.4mm dia?
14mm x 1.5 studs?
Seems a lot - 2" spacers?
After writing this I'm even more confused.
Now it seems the offsets that I have are even bigger than the Maverick and they should fit even better. Do I have what is an offset backwards?
