XL Headlights on with wiper

The headlights turn off about 2 minutes after I turn off the wipers. I too considered the lights being set to auto on and it being overcast but The lights stayed off without the wipers. I tested it quite a few times and I’m convinced it has the feature.
The sticker makes no mention of it nor does any ford literature. When other xl owners test theirs we’ll learn.
I also considered that all mavericks probably use the same control module and the feature is probably programmed to work or not.
I was pleasantly surprised and it’s my pleasure to make your day.

Well some things Ford puts in those manuals are not always on point. One good example of this is when I noticed in the Maverick Order guide is that it says

that the Maverick has a “manual climate control, single zone” As standard in the XL. This actually is not true, it has an Electronic Automatic Climate Control or Single zone automatic climate control.

. Other base Ford’s like the Escape S and the Bronco Sport base get the manual climate control, single zone.

After reading this post, I tested my XL for this option - my headlights do come on when I turn on my wipers. Bright sunny day -

in minnesota we have a headlight law and if you need wipers you are requierd to have headlight but they dont seam to inforce it

same for Ohio

Reviving this thread.. I have a 2024 XL and after comparing several different Maverick trim's coding, I believe the "Wiper Activated Automatic Headlamps" feature is present on all Maverick Trims even though Ford says XLT, and Lariat Only. There is no difference in coding (that I can find) in the BCM or SCCM that enables or disables this feature which leads me to believe that ALL Mavericks have this feature.
