Nah. I see the value in that for a work truck, but not a personal vehicle.

I wouldn't. I don't have any plans to use it as a 'work truck'

Definitely see some value in that as a fleet vehicle, especially if it came in sub $20k as a bare-bones model (which, let's face it, what else would it be?). Personally, 0 interest.

It looks so weird without a bed seam in two door form. Makes me think of a Volkswagen pickup.

I would consider one.

I currently have an '08 Ranger with the "Supecab" and 6 foot bed. As a single guy, I find myself doing a lot more hauling and bed stuff than transporting passengers. If I had the option of more bed length and tighter passenger quarters (Ranger technically still seats 5), I'd go for the bed length/Supercab version.

On the flip side, I do far more commuting than bed stuff, so the MPG of the hybrid wins over the box length. The fact that Ford made specific design choices with the tailgate to accommodate 4x8 sheets in the shorter bed was really all I needed.

There, looks a little less gimpy with the seam...

20 years ago I could see no use for a 4 door pickup with a short little bed. It was only 8-foot beds for me. But my needs have changed and the Maverick checks all the boxes for me in my retirement years.

Nope. If I didn’t want a true crew cab, I’d buy an extended cab F150. Whole point of buying the truck for me was so I had something to cart my son with 4 doors around that could handle projects with a truck bed too because it’s getting old trying to manage that with a mustang currently.

I also hate regular cab pickups. Being tall I found I could never get really comfortable in the regular cab F150 XLT I had on top of it being annoyingly noisy by the rear window area. Also I’ve been told they tend to fold up in rear collisions easier, which was also a problem with extended cabs in some cases as well, so I rather have the extra interior space for protection vs a longer bed too.

No thanks. I bought a standard cab S-10 many years ago. I liked the truck but its limitations in securing items inside the cab from weather and thieves convinced me that I don't really want another standard bed truck. Even items as small as a gym bag or groceries became a hassle if I was running errands with one passenger. My other trucks (a Toyota and a Nissan) were of the "king cab" variety. Much more useful.
