I basically told my Maverick to forget my Iphone and told my Iphone to forget the Maverick. It seemed to work better and faster that way. It still has issues, but it works more than it doesn't.

Yep that’s what I ended up doing. I know before I did that it always had to disconnect phone as part of the process. It does seem quicker and more reliable now.

I have that exact same one and I had issues. Whether it’s me or the dongle I’m not sure. 🧐
I did not update the firmware on the headunit or the Ottocast as mine was an August 2023 build, if yours is older you might have to update the firmware.

How do you determine build date?

The build date I mentioned was for my Maverick. The latest release was I think early summer.
As for the OTTOCAST you can find the build date easily if you start the car without your iphone present and once the Ottocast is online, press carplay and the the screen with the OTTOCAST WIFI network will show and the firmware version will be on the lower right. Instructions on how to update are here: https://www.ottocast.com/pages/update-u2-air

I've now had 2 wireless carplay adapters, both from amazon, both worked maybe 70% of the time. The other 30% of the time they would freeze, not connect, or just not ever get recognized by the truck. Pretty annoying to unplug and replug the adapters all the time.

Looking for a reliable solution. Any solid versions out there?

I've had these two:

I have one of these, drove 2,200 miles to Ohio and back, the ONLY time it disconnected was around semis but went right back on, thinking it might be interference with their radios. Works pretty good in my opinion?

I updated the firmware on the Ottocast so I'll try that one again. The one I have been using which was working better than the not updated Ottocast was already updated.

I have used Motorola MA1 for about a year with no issues.
Have to remember that every function has a few seconds delay for connection and channel changes.
