If you go into the screen settings, you'll find an option that is a list of the available screens. For whatever reason the display can't show all of the screens (of course I'm talking about the current MPG screen, trip 1, trip 2 etc). In order to display the AWD screen, you need to disable one of the others that is showing (ones like the seatbelt indicator or music playing options were the first to go for me!).

It looks similar to the post above, with a top-down view of a generic truck, and 4 bands next to the tires that show which tires are receiving power at that moment.

How is life in the 'Peg? Can't really say I miss it myself (outside of some good friends of course), lived there for a couple years in the late 90s!
On the small screen, that AWD display is under "settings", which makes no sense, but there it is. You'd think it would be easier to get to. I'll look into the customizing selecting a screen option - Thnx.

Life in Wpg same but probably busier than you remember. There's been lots of growth, lots of immigrants, more big city problems. I grew up around here, was away with work for 25+ years, but came back and am retired now. Friends and family here, but we lived west coast (Vancouver Island) for 10 years, so know what paradise looks like ;)

I think it does that all the time. I was watching the other night while on dry pavement at 45* and the rear would kick in under medium acceleration.
That is interesting - I know that I watched it back in warmer temps and it did not do this - at least I could have sworn it didn't! 45 is quite cool still, could be set to activate at a temp that is cool but still above freezing for sure.

More investigation will be needed!

I'll try it tonight, it should be in the 50"s still.

Found this online regarding Ford AWD system:

Ford Intelligent AWD
Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is an advanced drivetrain system that is able to monitor hundreds of different pieces of data every second to help improve handling and traction, including:
  • Rate of acceleration
  • Wheel speed
  • Steering wheel angle
  • Accelerator pedal position
Using this information, it is able to send more torque to the rear wheels if it detects bad weather or road conditions, or send all the power to the front wheels in normal driving conditions in order to optimize fuel efficiency.
Some models even come with an Intelligent Display which is able to show you precisely how torque is being distributed between the different wheels.

Just ordered a set of Michelin Latitude X ICE snow tires for my Maverick.
I am going to put michelin crossclimate 2 on my hybrid. Provided I can trade in my tires someplace.

That detail about detecting bad weather makes me wonder if they leverage the att days connection to pass weather data as well. Would be interesting to see if it acts the same on colder nice days.

In the Escape, I never notice FWD/AWD transitions. It's hard to tell if it's acting "differently" when you never see it in action. I only just noticed that SLIPPERY mode will keep it in AWD to 20 mph. Makes sense....

Dunno why they thought it was a good idea to have the block heater plug located under hood? I made a short extension cord so I can keep the hood closed, just plug in up front. I tied it to the grill with some heavy string/cord. I couldn't find anywhere up front there around the headlight/grill area to route a cord thru. Looks fugly - don't care. Functionality over looks when it gets really cold. That cord has remained flexible down to -20C (coldest it's gotten so far this winter). If anyone has a tidier solution, would love to see it.

I'll keep our one snow a year and 40-50 average temps... Thanks lol
Shhhhhhh, they're moving here faster than we can take 'em.

Actually, it snows from Halloween to Easter, and that doesn't include the ice storms. Our road crews are poorly prepared for such events and everything is uphill both ways. We all wear overalls, staw hats, and no shoes.

Neither do I... it took three tries, and a trip out to the lot to look at a diesel truck - "I want it like that."

Block heater short extension cord Vers 2.0. Made it so I could plug in a charger too. It's zip tied to the steel bracket forward of the power block:

I wrapped the charger in inner tube rubber, just lay it in the front LH corner. It's not going anywhere, and if it did bounce around a little, not going to hurt anything (I'm not going offroading). This Battery Tender 3A charger will give the battery a boost when the block heater is plugged in:

Not too offensive - note Ford Blue cord, just tied to the grill:

Thank you for the photos and information as to where the engine block heater plug is in located.
I was hoping that it would be exposed with a cover similiar to my 2014 Ford Fusion block heater plug in near the left fog light . I ordered mine on November 1st, just hoping it shows up by the end of May.

Thank you for the photos and information to the engine block heater plug in. I was wondering where they put it on the ECO boost. I ordered mine on Nov 1st it also has the block heater.
I was hoping that they located it in the same area as the Ford Fusion ECO boost (near the left front fog light) .
Oh well I just hope it shows up before May 1st.
