Not supposed to see temps above the low 40s here in NH so mounted my snow tires/wheels today. These are some older Sport Edition wheels I picked up on Craigslist for $100 (guy even delivered them to me!). They are 17x7.5” with an offset of +40 and fit fine.

The wheels were in good shape except for some minor curb rash on one. I ended up sanding them down and painted them with four coats of silver wheel paint and two coats of clear. The blue centercaps are actually an OEM Ford part for some European Fords. The OEM lug nuts cleared the holes fine as long as I used a thin regular socket to mount them. An impact socket wouldn’t fit.

Tires are Dunlop WinterMaxx SJ8 in a 225/65 that I got from Walmart for $115/ea mounted. We’ll see how they perform; they got good reviews.

I found a set of new OEM TPMS sensors on eBay for $35 total so used those. Thought I might have to program them with Forscan, but they worked right out of the box.

Good move to put on winter tires.

I like those wheels. Which sport edition ford vehicle do they come from?

I have Sparco Terra wheels, which are kinda similar looking, in grey painted color on my Iconic Silver XL. I wish they were silver like your's but they are growing on me.

The guy I bought them from had them on a Volvo C40 if I recall correctly .

Looks like you did well on the wheels and tires.

FYI, those TPMS sensors are all over eBay for $35 or less a set and they are certainly counterfeit. That doesn't mean they won't work, but they may not work as well or last as long. Even buying aftermarket sensors in bulk (bags of 50) for the best deals, they are still about $20 each. If you could buy OEM sensors for $9, nobody would even bother. Might not make a difference for your winter wheels, but just something to keep in mind.

Went into a local Ford dealer (part of a big car chain) locally for a TPMS sensor replacement on my Escape (my dealer was booked solid) and the bill was well over 100.00 for one sensor... And mind you, had to go back a 2nd day as they had none in stock. With each visit to that dealer, I asked them to check the air in the tires as one was reading low, they didn't to it either time, but tried to cross sell me everything under the sun. When a 2nd failed a few weeks later, I went to a local tire chain and had the other 3 replace for around 75.00.. Obviously that Ford dealer is on my shit list. Got a survey from the and gave them a terrible review... Took them several months to even call me about the survey... They will never see my business again.

bosch makes the sensors. you can get 'bosch' on ebay and amazon, but they could be counterfeit. if they sync up, the only real issue could be premature failure which could be battery life or anything else, it doesn't matter because they're non serviceable.

I have seen tire shops and dealerships charge more than $100 per tpms sensor which is pretty steep so I get it why anyone would want to try cheaper. the Maverick uses 315mhz sensors and assuming the sensors are working, they will be automatically learned after driving a few miles.
