Interesting, thanks. On my 2024 EcoBoost Lariat there are lines on top of the handle to touch to unlock or lock it. There were no cars nearby, no change in my pockets or purse.
For the record, Ford advises against manually moving them in this fashion. It will cause premature wiper motor wear. The proper way is to turn on your wipers and turn off the key once the wipers are at or near the top position. You can then pull them away from the glass. Just be sure to lay them back down before turning the key back on, otherwise you will scrape the crap out of your hood edge.Thanks, you're a smart cookie! Guess I should read the owners manual. I was hoping after doing that they would both stow in their previous positions. No joy there, but at least it's easy to clean the window.
Thanks, I used the wiper control. I think it's a weird design that the hood is in the way of pulling them up from their stowed position. I'll be checking that now for all future vehicle purchases.
forgive me for laughing, since day one you haven’t been able to lift the wipers up to do too much. If you live in an area with lots of snow, you won’t be able to lift them up overnight to keep your window clear for easier cleaning. It is a little bit of a pain, but if you love your truck, you’ll learn to live with it.My 2024 EcoBoost has 1,083 miles on it and now the right wiper (as viewed from the cab) won't return to its original position over the black part of the glass. I've noticed I can't fully lift the wipers to clean the windshield because the hood is in the way and can only lift the right one an inch or so to clean the glass under it. On all my previous vehicles the wipers would stay in an "up" position. At first I just shrugged my shoulders, but now that the right wiper won't fully stow, it's annoying. The wiper doesn't appear to be tweaked in any way, the windows are clean, wipers don't have many miles on them and I can physically move the wiper to its original stowed position with a slight nudge.
Any ideas about how I can get the right wiper to go down all the way when I stow them using the steering wheel wiper control?

Glad you got a laugh. I love my truck, but I don't love this about my truck. Every other vehicle I've owned allowed me to lift the wipers from the stowed position. It's a stupid design to have to use the wiper control to move the wipers out of the way of the hood.
Of course they'd say that. Even though that's not how they operated when I pulled out of the lot.
there were a lot of very early post about this, that might be hard to find now. I have a 2022 that I brought home December 2021 that’s when I started finding post on the site about this. I didn’t mean to be offensive. Sorry.
Yup, it in the manual for service position. Manually moving the blades by hand could damage the wiper motor, so this is the way to go.
