The deflectors are a part of my build. After the complaints about fit and finish I'd remove them if I could. But my truck has a build date fast approaching so I'm stuck with them. I will ask the dealer to not install them. When I get my truck, I will temporarily tape them in place and see if I can live with them. I've heard folks that like them comment that it does alter the sightlines and takes getting used to.

One thing to note, dealers and customers install them in different locations and this alters the aesthetics quite a bit. Don't know how this changes how they perform except the lower you install them, the more it might limit your vision.

Mounted as high up as possible

Mounted low, (correct placement?) so the mirror trim and air deflectors transition seamlessly.

From this thread, https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/side-window-deflectors.10357/ OTACORB said the following:

The Lund ones that Ford offers are just fine. However, I see that many people install them incorrectly. They don't install at the very top of the door frame. They actually install on the rubber seal at the top of the window and will align with side mirror lines. The 3M adhesive works very well provided that you prep the area before hand. I've used these types on a few vehicles and I've never had an issue with them when installed properly. The issue is most people don't install them properly. I've seen at least a half dozen Maverick on this forum that don't have them installed in the proper location and in some cases they were installed by an idiot dealer tech.

I think they help with sun, but also when it rains and you go up to a drive thru the rain will roll off outside your door instead of inside on it. Plus as others said, you can crack your windows down a bit to give some ventilation when you car is parked on hot summer days.

I prefer in channel deflectors, but used the pass points on the ford ones and gave it a little trim on the end as others suggested and turned out ok,also reduced in cabin buffering when window is open for dog

i thought the whole point is to be able to open the window a few inches and it be covered by them? if mounted up on paint they are almost even with top of window. all pics from avs and lund show them more on rubber molding
