I have my order confirmed like many on here.

Question is by the time the trucks are built and delivered later this year possibly even into 2022 will Ford raise the price considering the way inflation is rising so rapidly?

I sure hope not. If it does and it’s a large jump will you stick with the purchase and pay the xtra?

I can't imagine the PR nightmare if they were to increase prices before the preorder customers take delivery. I'm not worried about this in the slightest.

It happened with the Bronco and Bronco Sport.

I've received a pricing sheet from my dealer exactly of what I've order (packages, extra stuff) so if they try to jack up the price there's going to be a fight! However, I don't expect anything like that from them or to do that.

I was afraid this might happen also so I had my salesman write up the out the door pricing (msrp plus fees) on my order summary sheet. Then got my salesman and sales manager to sign it. At least I have something in writing to guarantee the pricing when taking delivery. I recommend everyone protect themselves from shady dealers.

If they do hike up the price and it is substantial I may not end up following thru with the purchase.

I don’t “need” it and can get by without it. I’ll wait for prices to normalize or wait for incentives/discounts. I’ll also keep saving up for a large down payment or pay for it in full with cash and no loan at all with the proper incentives/discounts.

The Maverick's "killer app" was its low base price with standard hybrid powertrain. They made such a big deal out of being under 20k base, it would be such a tremendous bait and switch, i can't see them doing it. If the price rises appreciably, you'll likely find me in a santa cruz. We all bemoaned being left in the dark for so long on pricing, but I would rather buy from a marketing- incompetent company than a dishonest one

If you do back out because of a price increase that just gives them a stock unit to mark up as they see fit. I'm sure this will be the hot boy truck for a while so mark ups will probably happen.

I’m with you. I’d rather have the Maverick but A Santa Cruz wouldn’t be a bad replacement.

If The Maverick price increases to about the same as a Santa Cruz and Hyundai doesn’t raise their prices I’ll probably get the Santa Cruz if They don’t honor my confirmed order price on the Maverick.

I also have a signed (Out the Door ) price from Tom on this site here with Chapman Ford on a XLT. Hope this does not happen to anyone. If anything Ford would be cutting this round of units off at some point this year and starting back up next year with a price increase then. That`s my thoughts on how they will increase the price at some point on the Maverick.

This is the response I just got from a 35-year dealership employee that handles all the ordering.

Retail orders are price protected to the date the original order was placed. This policy has been in place at Ford for decades.

So, if you have a confirmed order, the price is set. Mid-year price increase happen all the time, nothing new. But, if you are waiting until you see a Maverick in-person to purchase, you will pay the price level in effect at the time.

I really hate to tell you guys this but it is sales 101. When I worked at a large dealership here in California the sales managers would always insist that we have the customer sign anything with numbers on it always. This little action of having the customer signs it helps commit them to the purchase and move them towards the close of the sale. It means absolutely nothing to the dealership or the salesman or the sales manager. If you think for one second that they will lose money to sell to you at a price that they promised months before the truck was on the lot you are sorely mistaken and in for a huge letdown. The salesman will apologize to you up and down about how the price is changed he will look so sad but they will not sell you the truck for a loss. And if you walk out they will gladly sell the truck with a markup way bigger than anything they were going to get from you probably that same day maybe the next day.

Ford dealers are independent businesses. If you have a confirmed order from Ford Motor Co, the price will remain the same as order. This doesn't mean that a dealer will not play games.
