Last question about Tonneaus, I promise. Fingers crossed. Anyways I am about to pull trigger but my old mind always has questions. Will a brush car wash damage a soft roll up or soft tri-fold? And if "real truck" wants to give a guy a nice discount I do have 2 2023 Mavs that need them. :) Leaning soft tri-fold because of hard folds prices.

I had one on a Ram I used to run through the brushed car wash every week. It did OK with no tonneau damage. I did condtion the tonneau with some special Best Top spray product regularly. But as my new car dealer vehicle prepping son (He did it for 2 years) told me, it will damage your Trucks paint and leave swirls and scratches everywhere. I have learned from from him that a good ceramic or graphene spray wax and touchless washes leaves a brilliant scratch free finish. He showed me what the brush washes do to paint. And to prove it, I had a brand new EV and always did touchless, the operator at the wash accidentally pushed the "brush" button for one wash. I now look at hood and trunk scratches every single day.....

I did always check the latches on the tonneau before going through the wash. If one of those comes loose, you may not have a tonneau on your truck after the wash.

Same experience for me. I have had 3 different trucks all with soft roll-up tonneaus and ran all of them through car washes with no problem.

No problem here yet, though I don't use car washes often, let along those with the rubber flappers (hurts me even to think about "brushes"). My soft tonneau is kind of junk, too, so it's a good test subject. Haha

No problem with roll up on Silverado regular brush carwash, but the Mavrick soft roll up only sees touchless carwash;)

I don't go through the car wash much because I have so much wax on my truck nothing sticks to it, but when am too lazy our its to cold to wash it car wash it is, in a year and half maybe 4/5 times, I have the FORD tri fold soft cover and theirs not a mark on it.
