She also refused to drive my old Frontier cause she couldn't shift the column gearing. Don't know her reasons for not driving the Maverick. I guess some day I will. Anybody else have this happen to them? What did you do? Jump for joy or goad her into trying?

I like the fact that my wife knows how to drive the truck but does not. She is not a graduate of, what I call, 'strategic parking'.
For instance;
Do not pick a parking spot that has cars on both sides rather than than opting for the open end spot. . . and then crowd the truck as far away from the 'door bangers'' as possible.
Do not 'go until you hit something' when parking into a curb (perpendicular parking).

Having my wife drive the Maverick would be a waste of the hybrid system. The gas mileage advantage would be mute with her style of driving.

Unless you don't have a second vehicle, maybe count your blessings. . .

Same here, it's been almost two years and she still has not tried it. I'm not pushing it, but it would be good for her to be more comfortable with it in an emergency. It does have many uniques, like all the "OK's" and other notes before driving and the rotary shifter. Otherwise, it does keep my MPG average better. She didn't care to drive my previous Ranger because it had a cap on it, but did if she had to. I got a tonneau instead for this reason. As she's gotten older, she just likes what she's familiar with; our Prius and her Miata.

My wife is like yours, then complains about all the door dings her car has! Meanwhile, over the years, all my cars remained ding-less" due to the extra walking I put into parking.

Both my adult kids just find the open spot and squeeze in. I just cringe at the thought of doing that.

My wife drives her car because she isn't comfortable driving a different vehicle, and she doesn't have to. Frankly, the manual seat Maverick isn't made for short people.

My Girlfriend will not drive it as she is scared to do any harm. She knows I love it and am trying to take the best care I can with it as its my first brand new vehicle.

Once I put a scratch and or dent onto it, Im sure she would love driving it!! I know I do.

Exactly the same. If we go someplace and take her Escape she prefers I drive.
It doesn't bother me I'm more comfortable behind the wheel and she is and she agrees.

My wife actually likes driving the Maverick but then she has a Bronco Sport so it feels very similar to her.

My wife refuses to drive my Mav, too. She seems to fear all the electronic doohickies.

My wife also refuses to drive the Mav. In her case it's because when your. It on, nothing happens. She doesn't feel or hear the engine start so she doesn't like it, she also doesn't like the brake hold, and it doesn't matter that she can turn it off!

She keeps her old iPhone because she knows how it works and doesn't want to learn how the new IPhones work. Funny, because they work that same way. It's a good thing she's so damned cute!

my trophy fake-wife doesn't like to drive at all, so if we're together I'm always driving, which is preferable to me. As for the Mav, she's taken it around the block and is perfectly fine with driving it; if she has to. She drives the Fiat 500e, and the X5 if she's on the Big island and I'm not there. She will NOT drive my Transit; would rather call an Uber.

Wife drove hers from so cal to okc. She drives it more than her escalade because its easier to park. Bought her the maverick , so she doesn't drive my raptor like a maniac.

I don’t jump for joy :’P
I wear the pants in my family, I told her she cannot drive my truck.

She knows nothing about this hobby forum btw. :XD
