I'm in the Orlando area. Rode out Charlie in 2004 in the garage watching the trees blow by. Will probably do the same for this one. I have two dogs now that are terrified of storms though so they will be hemped up and on the bed the whole time.

Tampa Bay hasn’t taken a direct hit from a hurricane in over 100 years! Where I live we have taken 4 direct hits since 2004! The track keeps shifting east so maybe TB will dodge another bullet?

I'm on the east side of Tampa Bay (Riverview) and not in a flood zone so I should be ok. The girlfriend lives about a half mile east of US19 in New Port Richey. She's under mandatory evacuation. We are hoping the storm surge stays under 10 feet otherwise her house will flood. I'm going up there later today to take her cats back to my house so she doesn't have to take them to the shelter. She's a county employee and has to work at one of the storm shelters otherwise I'd have her stay with me.

I've been in Florida for 8 cumulative years and she's been here for about the same. We have never dealt with a hurricane. It will be interesting to say the least.

Where in Ocala? I'm downtown/tuscawilla park area. Just gonna be really windy, lots of rain, possible long term power outages here. I have lots of friends on all sides of Tampa Bay tho and will be heading south immediately after it passes to help with cleanup.

I know that. We were out 11-1/2 days with Michael. Cold showers and hot houses. Only plus was using the gas grill for Omaha steaks and Dijournio self-rising. Best pizza ever, btw.

Working from home tomorrow and next day (power and internet permitting) back in the office on Friday tentatively. So no party here in Longwood.

We have all our supplies as we keep em on hand year round, generator has been tested and ready to go if needed.
