i ordered 2.0 FWD, but not 4K tow, as i was told its a late production to get 4k tow pack, on a FWD. so i scratched the 4k tow as i have no real plans on towing with it (maybe a motorcycle)

that said, not a fan of cvt, and prefer the 8 speed.

would have loved the bigger radiator of the 4k tow, and the trans cooler, but didnt want to wait for late production, as I've already been without a car of my own since june. (making the 1 car thing work isn't too bad right now though)

It seems that most of the folks who did this either don’t like the CVT or they wanted the towing power.

I hear you on the 4K though.

In before someone explains why the eCVT isn't a CVT and is probably the better transmission of the two options on this platform

The third option I suppose would be folks who want the Ecoboost for the power and tuning potential but want to spare the extra weight, cost, and bit of complexity from AWD.

Yes, I know. I concur with it being better. I like my current CVT. I was just wondering their reasoning for their choice and saw a couple of times that the “CVT” was mentioned.

Ahhh, yes, that makes perfect sense. I have seen folks asking about tuning!

Just my 2¢ but I think people overrate AWD for daily driving. It's all about tires.

I considered the 2.0 but I just don't have the need for 4,000 lbs towing capacity. The most off roading I do is gravel or dirt roads on the way to a campsite or trail and I've never had problems with 2WD. I am a little worried about the hybrid being too slow for my tastes, we'll just have to see.

It depends what your use of the truck is. Normal driving? Probably don’t need AWD.

Pulling a boat out of a slippery inclined boat ramp? Most definitely yes or other areas where AWD is needed.

I’m glad Ford offers different drivelines for different customers allowing the truck to ordered in the configuration of their choice.

Mine is 2.0 EB XLT with FWD. The truck is still very capable of doing anything I need it to do. For my needs, the FWD works great.

I did! My Subaru has more than enough AWD for me and I don’t want the maintenance/headaches of owning a hybrid. Plus a conventional auto is a huge selling point over a cvt…

I ordered the Hybrid for the mileage. The Maverick Lariat Lux also has loads of safety and convenience luxury options. I presently drive a FWD vehicle. It drives great in the snow. So, I am figuring the Maverick FWD will be about the same. I don't have a need for off-road or heavy towing. I need a truck bed irregularly for projects and hauling. Presently I have a 2010 Ford Ranger that does the job. The Maverick will be a perfect replacement.

E-CVT has 1/3 the parts of a traditional CVT is is far more reliable as well.
