As I said before, the antenna extends the range of the one button fob. It won't affect the original fob in any way.You do not need that fob to turn in the car, you can use the factory key. See the video

Hi mine has no black box (perimeter alarm box) so per yours and other suggestions I need to buy the perimeter alarm box to plug my antenna into. Since I already have the factory remote start added on my Maverick I won’t install the pigtail jumper. Thank you everyone for all your help. The Ford instructions were vague to say for me to plug into the VSS (vehicle security system module) which I looked very hard for and did not see it. Again thank you muchGo to your OBD port, behind it, are there 2 sets of cables, one leading somewhere and another to a black box?
Source...Your Ford may be equipped with a remote start system that allows you to turn on the ignition from up to 300 feet away.

Hello, need your help in after installed I tried to follow your link to enable the VSS with horn honks, etc.. But my 23 Mav Lariat has a pushbutton start and not a key? What am I doing wrong since I tried adjusting the sensitivity button and banging hard on steering wheel as per instructions but no alarms? TIA lotsFrom what I am seeing the Maverick does not use a VSS, the security system is incorporated in to the BCM(body control module). What part number is this antenna you have and who sold it to you? I am thinking it may be an antenna that is used for the dealer installed add-on remote start systems. If you can message me the part number( and your vin would help too) I will look it up when I am at work(dealership) for you tomorrow.
Mike, I only bought this VSS box to hookup my extended range remote start antenna I was sold thinking I only needed the antenna? So I bought it, hooked it up then tried the procedure to test it after hookup but no good. Now I’m stuck, and I wish I’d never bought antenna and went w VSS box after all this trouble. Had I know I needed more than antenna I’d quit the whole thing but I don’t give up unless you tell me it won’t work. Thank you,Do you have the actual programming instructions or just the install instructions? I'm not sure exactly what you need.... there is a specific procedure for turning on the alarm system, and programming the fobs to it(you did get at least 1 separate fob with it didn't you?h

i Ordered remote start for my Lariat. Only reason I needed or wanted this extended remote antenna is where I work has very limited weak cell signal to use FordPass or key fob to reach truck from wrk building to remote start it in winters. So I only bought VSS box to be able to plug in antenna to get more longer range. Now after box is hooked up I’m using the Ford VSS Installation manual to “learn the box” to my vehicle section. Hope this details help you to help me. TIAOkay, let's (try to) start with getting the remote start function working and disregard the security system part of it for now. I might be asking redundant(stupid) questions here, but did you see a little looped black wire that came with the VSS "black box'? and did you plug it in to the black box?

Close the driver door. 24. Open the driver door. 25. Close the driver door. The vehicle's horn will sound 1 time to indicate the security enable/disable option has been accessed. 26. Applying and releasing the brake pedal will toggle the security feature on/off. • The horn will sound once to indicate the security feature is ON. • The horn will sound twice to indicate the security feature is OFF. 27. Cycle ignition key to the OFF position to exit security enable mode. "
Horn should honk ONCE to indicate VSS enabled.
