I have an XL hybrid that I picked up after a customer canceled his order. The truck is everything I imagined it could be, and more! For this truck, I happen to find it at a dealer in Gastonia, NC, but I live in Pensacola, FL. I did all of the paperwork over the phone, then flew up to Charlotte to pick up the truck a month ago. I drove it 546 miles back home.

I love the feel of the truck, as it is a smooth and easy truck to drive. It sits to the ground at the same level as a mid-sized SUV, so it's easy to get in and out of. There's plenty of room inside. It's easy to see the road from the cockpit.

My first experience driving the Maverick was off the dealer's lot in normal traffic for about 10 minutes before getting on the interstate to head back home. It drove smooth and pretty quiet. On the interstate, it was quick and peppy! I had no trouble with acceleration and hitting the speed limit, and more!

The seats are plenty comfortable! I have lumbar and cervical spine issues. There's plenty of cushioning and support in my seats so I'm not sore on long nor short drives.

I now have almost 1K miles on the truck. After I got it home, the remaining miles have been city driving. Again, very smooth, and a pleasure to drive.

This truck is also a conversation starter. I've had several occasions where people have come up to me in a parking lot and asked about the truck. I had a hitch installed earlier this week, and one guy said his son had ordered one, but has never seen one. He asked me a lot of questions, and took pics of my truck. Another time, I parked in a Sam's Club parking lot away from everyone else. When I got done shopping, a lady with a Ford Super Duty truck was parked next to me, and was loading up her flat cart of groceries for her restaurant. She jokingly said, "it looks like my truck gave birth to your truck". LMAO!! That Ford Super Duty was huge compared to my Maverick!

I've owned many many new cars since I was 21, and I'm 62 now. I never added any accessories to any of my vehicles. They were what they were, and that was it. With the Maverick, I added the hood deflector, door window deflectors and tailgate assist with my FordPass points. I also added door sill protectors, door edge guards, deep well floor mats, and door handle and bowl protectors, and the OEM hitch. I considered adding more accessories, but then I had to remind myself that the XL I have now is only a truck I purchased to hold me over until my XLT with CP360 and the lux package is built and arrives. At this point, I'm expecting it to be rolled over to a 2023 since I didn't order until 15 October. When that arrives, I'll be selling the XL for fair market value.
Do you feel like you are sitting higher than a car?

I truly enjoy being in the Mav, and driving it.

I also enjoy getting questions and folks wanting to check it out every where I go, lol. Obviously that won't happen much once they really start getting delivered but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

I once had a really weird moment driving in my little '98 Civic hatchback. I was driving through Historic downtown St. Augustine, and as I was cruising along I had this rush of clarity go through my body for like a full minute. It was like being totally at peace with the world. I'd like to have a moment like that with my Maverick.

I used to dread my drive from FL to NC every month in my F250 diesel, not to mention the fuel cost. I’ve had my Lariat for six weeks now and over 2200 miles! I love this little truck/car🥰

The vibe? I hit the road, turn on the spa channel on Sirius, engage adaptive cruise control, lane centering, turn on fresh air vent, open the rear window (moonroof is too noisy at 75+mph) and relax for the next 7 hours. i get so relaxed at times that I have to switch to Garage, country or Margaretaville (first time with Sirius 🤩) Such a letdown when the trip ends!

I was planning to leave Thursday but started packing the truck and got excited thinking about the drive that I’ve decided to leave tomorrow 😊 Yes, great vibes!🤗

I love it. Feels like a truck but much easier in parking lots than, say, my 87 F150 with an 8 foot bed. You do sit higher up than a car so your vision is a bit harder in tight spots. It's an inch longer than my old Buick Regal but feels like I'm taking up much more room than I am.

The mpg is great so I don't feel like I'm wasting money driving a truck like I did anytime I drove the 87 (10mpg on a good day).

I feel like I was not ripped off. And I got what I paid for. Cabin noise is low not as most make it out to be.
Also the seat is similar to the Ford Flex, captains seat level of comfy.

That external speaker has go to go though. my 2005 M3 makes less noise backing up and much less coasting down the road.

Other then that, I feel like a champ in the Mav

PS I get as much compliments as my son gets in his 94 3000 GT

To those who already have a Maverick. Probably a dumb question (not my first), but what's it feel like driving it? The best "vibe" I've had driving was in British sports cars with the top down in Southern California in the early 60s. It just felt good driving around. Nothing will top that. Next the vehicles I liked just being in were my (1980s?) Honda Accord, my early 90s Toyota pickup, and maybe my (2000?) Toyota Tunda. I have no idea where this comes from or how to quantify it. But - does it feel good being in the Maverick, or is it just a good, small, utilitarian truck?
Vibe: gemütlichkeit
