That's what our President says, "Ginia rhymes with Vaginia", when he refers to China.
Oh, ok. Did not know that! Well I'll refrain from getting into politics 😁 but my tailgate letters came from Maryland, whether they were made there or not 🤷‍♂️ who knows? If I like something I buy it, don't necessarily care where it's made. Other than our flag I hang at the house, that was made in USA with materials sourced here. Figured at least that should be 🇺🇸 not much is made in America anymore...including our awesome little trucks 😃

I cut mine out of Oracal 651 (outdoor vinyl) on a Cricut machine. I chose matte silver for my velocity blue truck.

I can proudly say that the Oracal material I made mine from was manufactured in GA and the letters were cut in my own home, so 100% USA made 😁

My Daughter has a cricut. Is there a template somewhere to make them the right size.

Here's the file. There are some extra pieces that get cut out just to take up more space, but all the letters are there:

You'll want to scale the image down to exactly 5.7in x 8.55in in the Cricut design center before cutting.

Exactly. I got COVID money from Trump and another grant from Biden to purchase a commercial freezer and a commercial refrigerator for our local Food Pantry. I absolutely wanted to buy American but could not find one from any vendor. They all said, assembled in the USA from foreign sourced parts. Go figure.

Which machine do you have? (Which model?) How did you generate the source file? Was that done from a photo, then a live trace in Illustrator?

The machines themselves look intriguing. The "Explore 5" with the 11.7" throat and 12 foot material handling capability is very impressive for the price.

My life loves crafting, and I began a career in the printing business in 1975, now freshly retired. To have a machine like the Cricut in our office sounds like fun! :)

We have the Maker 3 model. The wife uses it to make signs, t-shirt iron ons, hat designs, etc. It is a neat machine!

For that file, it was basically a matter of finding the best picture online of the tailgate letters in a flat orientation, and then using Adobe Capture to turn that into an SVG and arranging them into an efficient order.

Thanks for this!

That sounds like a great way to create a good source file.

My wife loves that sort of thing as well, and meets weekly with a group of like-minded ladies. She is looking up the Cricut on her iPad "as we speak."

Cheers! :)

For my first Maverick, a 2023 XLT, my daughter used the file posted earlier on her Cricut Maker. Black on Oxford White. My new 2026 Lariat will be getting Black reflective on Carbonized Gray Metallic, once I get the vinyl for her.

I got mine on eBay, it is the 2D or 3D whatever they called it acrylic raised letters. I also have the space white. I only paid $21 shipped. I have had it on now 5 months with no issues.

The biggest thing is to make sure you clean and prep the area before the letters are installed whatever you get. Make sure to use rubbing alcohol or something that will clean any wax off so the letters stick real good. Also once a month after I clean my vehicle, I use a spray wax over the letters to try and keep them nice looking. Here in the AZ sun I have seen outdoor rated vinyl fade after 2 to 3 years.

Good luck and let us know what you choose, and pics please!

Here is the link where I ordered it

Got my new space white XL yesterday and first mod is tailgate MAVERICK letters. Searched and see all kinds of letters, vinyl, 2d, 3d, raised letters, matte, glossy etc. I think black is the way to go on white for sure but not sure of what ones to get. What ones did you use and are you happy with them? Must be different grades of vinyl used since there is a wide range of pricing. Dont mind spending more to get a really good set that will last.
I've ordered reflective white with black outline, can't wait

I have the Ruby Red Maverick. I bought silver vinyl lettering from Etsy. Looks great and has been through many car washes. The installer said it should last a long time and looks good. 10 bucks for the vinyl.
