The wife just got a moto g power.
Pros: Inexpensive and great battery life.
Cons: doesn't take great night time pictures, nothing fancy about it.
I have a 4yr old Moto g6 (bought for ~$190), zero issues ever. I'm a millenial who has to use his phone quite a bit for work (constant TEAMs and zoom meetings). It does the job so I see no reason to spend $1k more. My wife (who works in Big Tech) has a Pixel 5a, because having a good camera is non-negotiable for her; is there something that ~$500 phone can't do?

If you like Motorola, I'd suggest a Moto Ace 5g. It's been the best phone I've ever had, have 2 others on my plan as well. It is $299.99 right now at Motorola. I have Samsungs and an iphone 13 mini as well, prefer the Ace 5g. No need for overly expensive phones these days.

If you want to use CarPlay or Android Auto, a wired to wireless dongle will good for you. I think it's very good to use the wireless charging device with the wireless dongle(I did this). There are several versions to choose from, depending on the functionality. I suggest is two versions. One is the most basic version, its only function is to change CarPlay(Carsmartbox and Carlinkit ) or Android Auto(AA or MA1) from wired to wireless. Another one is a more advanced (I'm using now). It contains the functions of the basic version. Moreover, It comes with a standalone Android system, which means unlimited downloads of the apps you need to use. "Sure, please drive safely". I sometimes use Netflix to relax when I'm taking a break in the car.
This is the link which i'm using now, FYI

Since you are asking such a question, I agree go with an Apple phone as is your wife's.
If you want to stay with an Android, buy a mid-range Samsung A52.
$399 unlocked at Samsung.com. Great phone for the cost.
My wife has one. (BTW, I just set up my new S22+, for those who know)

I sell cell phones and can say the initial move to apple can seem daunting but its fairly simple. It helps your wife is accustomed to the OS environment. Androids are mainly the same functionality-wise but each has their own twists which in my experience has caused more grief than switching to an apple device. On top of that Samsungs are full of bloatware, Google phones are neat but still have OS issues and tracks every move you make and sells that data, and motorolla has had a steady decline in quality for almost 6 years now. Apple battery life is decent but not as long as long as their competitors. There are trade offs with each. Personally Id recommend apple. Its whole user interface was designed to be easy to use. I have an iphone 12 mini and love the size. The battery is less than a normal iphone 12 but I plug it in when driving for Carplay. Research for the ones that interest you and go off of that.

Thanks for the suggestion.
My wife has an Apple 11 and likes it.
Do you know if there is an option that will provide wireless?
Get the IPhone 13/mini and give it to your wife, use her IPhone 11. She will be happy and you will enjoy it just as much as the 13. Just go into your local mobile carrier store and they will do everything for you.

I need to replace my Android Moto Z2-Play phone with something a little updated (more storage and without cracks in the screen). I have ordered a Hybrid Lariat Lux. I am looking for recommendations on what phone to purchase to best link with the electronics in the Mav. Does it make a difference whether I get an I-phone or an Android. I am currently using Synk3/Sirius in my 2013 Fusion and have no experience with Apple Play. Addicted to GoogleMap. I occasionally still use an old Ipod to listen to my old rock tunes and I'm not sure whether I will able to use it in the Mav.

I'd appreciate input from anyone who can give me suggestions about what type of phone to buy.
I bought a Moto G Stylus as a backup phone and love it. My wife & daughter are iPhone users, but I prefer the flexibility of Android and my experience with Motorola has always been top notch.

I've always been android and particularly Samsung. I now have the S20 FE and Android Auto works great with it.
