As I was leaving a shopping area yesterday My 2023 XLT Maverick made a very loud KLUNK and the Electric quit, I was able to coast (well I thought it was coasting) to a parking spot, thanks to a slight down hill slope. The power needle was in the up position and nothing worked on the shift dial so I turned the key back to off and turned it back to on to see what would happen. Viola everything was back to normal, a little scary but has been fine since, anybody else have this problem?

Mine did the same shut down but with no Klunk. On the interstate at full speed. Twice. Don’t let the dealer blow it off if the computer can’t find anything. Hopefully the Oct recall will fix the problem.

By chance was your emergency brake/parking brake on?

This Saturday I was helping my brother and his wife move. I was parked on a hill, nose slightly down, with the emergency brake on. When I released the brake and tried D, nothing. Turned the key forward and turned the shifter dial again and I heard a loud clunk that you could also feel. It was similar to having an old rear wheel drive car that had pressure on the parking pin or pawl from a steep parking job that when finally the pressure is finally released a clunk is heard and felt.

I'm really not sure if I've had the same experience as it's only happened once, was breif and the truck is so new still that I'm unsure if it was something I caused.

Nope not on, I had driven couple 100 ft. before it klunked and I lost the electric power. I couldn't try much at the time as I had 2 vehicles behind me. I'm 120 miles from the dealer in Wi. where I bought it. The dealers in the UP suck.
