I found a couple of pliable areas located up under the bed rail caps on either side. They are covered by the bed liner so I'm not sure what they are made from or where they go. I'm hoping to use it as a wire path for mounting some LED lights on the bed sides up under the caps. Does anyone know what they are made? Is there a channel back there that leads to the bottom of the truck cab exterior?

Image of truck bed for reference. Looking up from bed to back of the cab and bed rail caps.

The bump is flexible and feels like it's made out of rubber??

If someone can help identify, then I hope I can use them as a penetration point to get some wires down to the bottom of the cab and then tap into the cargo light circuit.

Not sure what you are looking at but here is some photos with the C pillar trim removed. The area you are describing could be the tabs for the bed trim cap that you push toward the outside to release the trim.

I did not see anywhere with the trim off to run wires into the cab in this area.

I don't have any bed liners and identified the location you're referring to.
The material is soft foam much like pipe insulation or pool noodle.

If you fold down the back seat you will see plastic partially covering a 2" box frame. The opposite side of the foam would be inside the box frame. So unless you are willing to remove the interior plastic trim and/or are really good with a fish tape, it looks like a difficult path.

@MavStangVa Thanks for looking, I think where I'm asking about is a bit lower under the bed rail cap sheet metal. I have added a yellow arrow to your image to show where I think it is in your photo. Though it looks like it's the same material as what I circled in red on your photo.

@Gray Goose Thanks for the information. I will go scope it out and see what you refer to. Too bad it's not an easy access point. It would really be nice to run the bed lighting that way so it's closer to the cargo lights and will be controlled by the light switch/unlock.

If you decide to pop the trim off like I did be very careful. The clips are installed to the trim from the bottom up so they can and will fall into the hole in the sheet metal. What the arrow is pointing to and the circle is around is seam filler. ooey gooey stuff. I would be afraid putting wires through it would create a water infiltration point.
