I have noticed my Waze app is showing me driving not where I am driving. I unplug my phone and it the app reverts to the correct route. When I plug it back, it goes off again. This does not happen often and usually after a start cycle, it is ok for a while. Does Anyone else have this issue?

I have two Garmin GPS units. In over 10 years, this has has never happened. I don't trust the NAV app in the Maverick. Helen Keller.

13 flawless years with the Flintstone version of sync in my old truck. Wife's connected sync 3 works as well but smarter with traffic interruption re routes.

It happens from time to time in every CarPlay car I’ve owned. The last two weeks have been particularly bad with the Maverick. I think they(Waze) pushed an update that has some unexpected behavior.

Reboot. It'll do that to me from time to time. Reboot your phone. The absolute worst decision the FTC ever made was allowing Google, the owner of a little thing called Google Maps, to buy Waze.

Agreed. It’s not the truck, it’s the app. Happens in my Kia, my GMC. Not often but definitely the app. Aside from that rare annoyance Waze is awesome, especially in larger cities.

Where do you keep your phone? I've been a volunteer Waze map editor for the past few years and we've noticed an increase in this not from the software, but because phones are increasing now out of sight of the windshield/satellites and can't get a strong GPS signal (especially when on wireless chargers). Users go to pick up their phone to unplug it, and it snaps back because they get a better signal.

That said, it is the software sometimes too and the developers are usually pretty good about pushing and update quickly once it's been reported by users to support.

It sits on my seat. If I open the app on my phone, while still plugged in, the app will still show the incorrect location. I unplug it, and it snaps back to the correct position.

When I see it, it makes zero difference where it is. A reboot fixes it 90% of the time (I figure Android just sucks at a core level and needs to reboot to get the GPS system reinitialized). The other 10%, it is Waze itself and I have to wait on an update.

Yeah, and Android Auto has not been great throughout its existence. I wonder how much effort Google is going to continue to put into it with AAOS now starting to roll out.

I'll be honest with you. There are many days I use Android and ask, "how the hell did this and iOS beat webOS and Windows Phone?" The latter two had the app gap they couldn't overcome but both were far more reliable and easy to use.

webOS was my favorite mobile OS but Mark Hurd couldn't keep his pants on while at HP.

I've never had any issues with Google Maps. Maybe Alphabet is starting to make Waze the lower product and not giving as much focus. I prefer the Maps routing. Waze always seemed to take me through sketchy areas with lots of turns just to save 30 seconds.
