10/31/2021 Order from Villa Ford - Orange, CA.

Cactus Grey XL Hybrid with Backseat Plug, Full-Size Spare, and Tow Hitch.

Went in 9/2022 to "convert" order to MY23. Dropped full-size spare from the order at this time.

Went back 12/2022 to check status and was told that I have been placed at Priority 12. Dealer said earlier orders than mine were placed at Priority 10-11....while orders after me were placed at Priority 13-19 since this was the "fairest way to do it" (their words).

Meanwhile.......I see ALL KINDS of people who were new 9/22 orders (NOT rollover 2021 orders) getting their Mavericks while I am sitting here like a complete dumbass waiting & waiting......

Just got a 45-day email today from Ford....so hoping everything was entered correctly.

QUESTION #1 : Does Ford have the capability of seeing who the original 2021 order-placers are? Or are we 2021 people just "mixed-in" with new 9/2022 customers? Does Ford even give a shit to differentiate between the two and prioritize 2021 people?

QUESTION #2 : What have I done wrong and what can I change at this point to make things go quicker?

Thanks in advance....
You're not waiting hard enough.

And do they perhaps also have "lots of orders" for Mavericks?

Did you make "an informed choice" by asking the dealer how many Maverick orders they had in front of YOU when you placed your order?
Friend,

I am afraid that the brutal reality is that I HAVE NO IDEA what Ford's internal allocation system looks like or operates like.

As a consumer..... I find it incredibly insulting that there is a "pecking-order" of dealership allocations and I need to devote hours and hours of my life trying to figure out which dealer to order from....

I can order from twenty different Ford dealerships within an hour of my house (L.A./O.C. area).

How the f*ck am i supposed to know which dealerships are getting allocations and which are not?

Shame on Ford for putting that burden of investigation on the consumer!!

It seems even that question means nothing. I was a brand new order placed 2 days after the order banks opened in 09/2022. I asked my salesman how many Maverick orders they had already and he said I was the 10th or 11th one. This was at a small dealer on Long Island. My order is priority 19 and I already have a build week. As far as I know I am one of the only Mavericks that got scheduled at my dealer so far. I am obviously excited however it made no sense for me to get scheduled that quick. It seems completely random.

If it makes you feel better I've had one on order since September 2021 and I heeded Ford's advice and switched from the most constrained trim (XL, Hybrid) to one of the least constrained trims (XLT, Tremor)....

I'm priority 10 at my dealer (a large central OH dealer), no Tremor orders have a higher priority than me, and I'm still unscheduled.

You're blaming everyone. Except yourself.

You ordered a 2022 Maverick Hybrid 4 1/2 months after orders opened. You were late to the party!

I ordered on the second day orders opened in June 2022. I didn't need to "devote hours and hours of my life trying to figure out which dealer to order from". I spec'ed out my Hybrid and went to a nearby dealer with no dealer fees.

I asked them 2 simple questions:
1- How many orders are ahead of me? They had 2 others.
2- What's the OTD price? MSRP + TTL

We shook hands, they filled out a buyer's order with my info, and I gave them a check for $500.
Total time invested, 1 hour.

Even at this late date, I still doubt you've asked your dealer how many Hybrids are in line in front of you.

I'm happy for you, it's nice when people on here are feeling good.

Possible scenarios-
<> they got 2-3 allocations a month since then.
<> salesman pulled the "10th or 11th" number out of his ass.
<> most of the other orders were hybrids

Yes, I regret not ordering earlier. Totally MY FAULT that my 10/31/2021 order has still not been built or even scheduled.

Silly me for expecting them to build my truck within 16 months.

I guess I really need to accept the fact that I am the one to blame....not Ford.

Thank you for putting me in my place with that reality check

Because each 1 in front of you takes an allocation before they get to yours.
