We spent the 4th July 2024
in the Grand Canyon.
Cooler temps. No crowds.
Best part spectacular night sky.
I was surprised at how very few tourists there were
Parking lots only 1/3 full.
Sometimes we were the only people at the overlook.
Granted we could not take the shuttle buses. So we went to the more remote areas.

It was stunning.
We were alone at some of the overlooks.
Thank You.

P.S. The Maverick did pretty good according to the computer the we got 41.1 mpg.
According to figures with the gas receipts filled up at the same station, the Maverick got 40.8 mpg

Sounds like you were afforded a great trip. It can get awfully hot there in the summer so that would probably explain why not many people were there . . . no doubt expecting temps in the 3 digits. Glad you had cool temps and clear weather to enjoy one of the best features of our great country.

Looks nice, the only time my family and I were to Grand canyon was during the day and there were a lot of tourists. I don't have an RV but I've always wanted to take my son out camping, even though I'm not a big camper but I like the idea of it....., to see the night sky. We're in the suburbs of Philly and with the light pollution you don't see one third of the stars. I remember driving across the country with my buddy hell probably 25 years ago now and we were in the middle of Colorado and it was so dark you couldn't see each other two feet away and the sky was amazing.
Cute dog

Thank You.
She is a rescue.
I have only had her 4 months. She is excellent in the car.
We don't camp or own an RV. We have to find pet friendly hotels or motels.
Maybe some day you will make it back to the Grand Canyon.
Take care,
GB

There is also the steam train from Williams AZ to the Grand Canyon
