My brother in law ordered from there also way before me and he still hasn't received his yet but he did order a hybrid with a few optionsI ordered from there, nothing yet.
The Ford order website drove me to my closest dealer (Bill Talley in McVille), they honored MSRP, $500 down, my salesman James has been good since Day 1 (on 6/18), is good about answering my periodic check-in emails, letting me know when I went to Priority 2, etc, but I wished I'd found this forum earlier, as I fear that maybe Talley doesn't have the allocations that a larger area dealer might have... but I am told I am currently their highest priority custom order, and will keep on hoping each first Thursday of the month Ford finally calls my number...
My first unicorn sighting was Talley's vehicles in the Christmas parade, lol, rolling by me at 10 mph to say "so close... but so far..."
Keep us posted! My June order is finally almost here! Got an email Friday from my dealership, Ted Britt Ford Fairfax, that my Maverick is shipped and on its way! So hopefully only a couple more weeks until there's another driving around in Virginia!
I picked up my Maverick XLT hybrid yesterday from Richmond Ford (ordered June 21). Area 51, Lux. Package, 360. Paid MSRP, minus Ford Drives U college rebate of $750. The $500 VA Farm Bureau rebate could not be stacked with the Ford Drives U rebate. Very first impressions have exceeded my expectations. I expected the interior to be cheap feeling based on the forums, but to me is well designed and love the contrast of colors. My wife's car is a Mercedes GLS 550 so I'm familiar with so called luxury car interiors. While the Maverick is obviously not a leather lined cocoon it certainly is better than entry level cars of the past. The leather steering wheel in Lux. package helps in that regard. It's one of the reasons I chose that package.
The other positive I noticed right away was the solid feeling of the body structure over bumps. No quivering like a frame based truck. The ride is firm, but not harsh. With the long wheelbase and truck like turning ratio it doesn't drive like a sporty car but I find it to be the right balance. I rented an Escape recently and the Maverick feels much more like a truck than the Escape it was based on. In mostly city driving the hybrid drive train is smooth and not at all strange feeling. There's some slight whirring and fluttering noises but the engine feels more seamless than I expected. I took out on highway for a few miles and road noise was perfectly acceptable. Only 20 miles so far but that's more than most test drives so I thought I would share.
congratulations![]()
