Remote start. 70 degree outside temp. A/C on a low setting

As you all mentioned, the noise goes away when the air is turned off. Thx

Sounds like my cheap, aging 6 year old dehumidifier. Cheap A/C compressor design? It hasn't been warm enough to use my A/C yet, so we'll see how it sounds. I know my Prius never made such sounds from it's electric A/C, hopefully my Mav isn't too loud.

FYI= This is close to being the #1 reason for the soundproof windshield in the Lariat. Also consider purchasing the slightly more expensive after market sound proof one if you ever need to replace the windshield.
Think those foam inserts between engine bay & front fender just in front of door helps?

I think some XLT's came with it though originally the Lariat. Mine does. Though I just corrected driver side that had fallen way over at top.

I never heard that loud sound last summer, though I rarely ran at max AC, if so it was usually on startup when I would have started engine too.

This is off a Toyota which has both the electric and mechanical drive but ids a short quick description of the scroll compressor.

Interesting it's actually 2 scroll compressors in that case, instead of just 2 means of powering one.

Just goes to show in home HVAC compressors - it really won't be that hard to have 2 stage cooling without that much of a price increase as they normally cause.

Thank you sir. I believe the A/C was set to #3 so it was not a very high setting but I will go out shortly to test it again.

In fairness, it has been getting much hotter here in Raleigh and I had not started the car in above 80 degree temps before today
What temperature did you have it set on?

And what was the temp in the cab & outdoors?
