Vehicle shut off message??

Okay. So I was waiting on my groceries at the pick-up area and our order wasn’t quite ready so I had to wait. Well, after 30 mins, I see a message on my cluster… “Vehicle shuts Off in 30 seconds Press OK to override.” Did anyone else know this??
This is awesome. This Mav keeps surprising me.

I didn’t know this. I’ve had several new high end cars and none have done this. I am aware of the remote start shut off but not while out and about.

I know that if you place the shifter in neutral a message comes up that it will shut off in 30 minutes. I'm surprised that you didn't see that. And I guess that applies to placing it in park also.

My Wife's Platinum Explorer has it as does my Raptor and others.. I think I first noticed it on my 2017 Platinum Expedition so it's been around for years....

It's the Automatic Engine Shutdown

Toggle 30min Max Idle to Off. ... scroll to Settings on the information display. Press OK to select Vehicle.

It was definitely in park not in neutral. If it were in neutral, vehicle will roll. I didn’t have the brake hold On. And as you can see in the picture, it’s in Park. So I’m not quite sure how this works.

Actually my new TRX has a form of it, the truck simply runs out of gas after ~30 minutes...LOL

Takes time to learn all of systems in this truck. I almost have it figured out. It also has a message that comes up saying to stay in neutral when exiting vehicle select L button.

You are correct. I’ve read the owners manual and I must have spaced out during that lecture. Lol any other Easter eggs this Mav is hiding? The other day I crank it on with the door open and I swear I heard robots talking! Freaked me out at first.

This might be of some interest to you. This also applies to other automotive manufacturers. If you should start to over heat the engine the power train ECM will cut off two cylinders to stop combustion and just pump air to keep the engine cool until you're able to get to repair facility.

I’ve been reading a lot of posted here on MTC, and it crazy how many things have happen to their mavericks. I have been doing everything possible to keep everything stock. I haven’t even done anything to mine just to prevent any freak accident. Fires, electrical issues, components breaking… I’m not doing any mods to mine.
