USB update

I have to take my truck in to have the APIM module replaced and not sure if it was the reason I could not get sync or Nav to update vis usb. Would anyone please go through the instructions for USB download for me and maybe I'm missing a step
1. Download sync or nav update to PC
2. Copy to USB drive it shows 3 files sync my ride and 2 others
Do I have to do anything to these files after copy to USB?
In both cases when I load usb it does nothing
I have used multiple usb with more than enough storage and they are formatted to exfat
Once APIM is replaced with your input maybe I can get these updated

Just a guess plug USB DRIVE into PC and download directly to it. Possibility that file key is linked to drive downloaded to id number as a copyright protection.

USB drive must be formatted to the correct format otherwise it won't work.

It is formatted to exfat as instructed does the files have to extracted or anything once moved to jump drive or is the sync my ride and 2 other files ready to go

If the files are zip files try unzipping them.

The file is corrupted. I was at the dealer yesterday and it came up corrupted for them too. I downloaded it again this morning and it's still bad.

I have the same issue with the file being corrupted. I cannot unzip them. I was able to unzip the files a month ago but not able to load them in my truck. This has been a issue for me with corrupted download from Ford for a month now.

Extract it to the root directory of the USB stick.

It should absolutely NOT be that hard. Some one at Ford declared themselves to be a computer guru, when, in reality, they have trouble with a calculator. Probably a nephew of an exec who still longs for the good old days.
They need a rectal craniotomy. (Head removed from ass.)
