i have had this issue since the day after I got it brand new. Carplay would randomly disconnect. Took it to the shop (that I use to work at) the tech kept saying it was my USB cable (even though it worked on my escape) I finally got them to replace the USB hub after he moved his cable just right to see it disconnect. while waiting for the hub to arrive it started to show connected USB device not responding over and over and over on the screen when nothing was even plugged in. making me think its the wire under the dash going to the radio. i took it back by the shop and he refused to look at it because they are "to busy". when I toke it back after the part finally came in they just replaced the hub and it worked for about 2 weeks then it started doing it again. i even considered it was my phone so I did a full restore on it from scratch. granted it was doing this with my wife's phone also. had to wait for a appt to get it checked out again. for them to not find the issue because it can go a few days no issue then it slaps me in the face. they set it up to their tech side with the videos I sent so they had something to show tech. and tech had them do a few more things on my car yesterday including something with the tcu. i cant reconnect it to ford pass. apparently when they did this tech said that if I cant reconnect to fordpass to get back up with them. the shop is doing everything they can to not open up the dash to verify if the wire is good. I'm tempted to open it up myself but don't want them to say anything about me doing their job. i have a background in computers and trouble shooting.

I’ve tried using both. But the error shows even when nothing is plugged in.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

Are you using USB A or USB C port? This post talks about USB A port connectivity issues.

I have been having the USB port intermittent problem described by many. I have tried different iPhones, different cables, reset the radio, basic and factory. Finally took i
the truck back to the dealer (just over 1000 miles so still under warranty) within a hour and a half they replaced the media hub and s
all is good. Thank u

It will not go away, I’m two years down this journey with a multitude of updates, cables, phones, OS, wireless adapters, etc. it will not end.
