Fellow onewheeler here. I just added a 2000w inverter under the back seat. I use the outlet on the bed to slowly charge my battery bank power station. Between those 2 I can charge 5 VESC boards at once on trail days. I have the hybrid so it makes the inverter a much more viable option.

I went with a high powered sine inverter with a separate storage battery in the bed with a charging unit (Battery Maintainer) that plugs into the Ford inverter outlet so it charges while I drive with out interference of the vehicles main charging system.
If possible charge your separate 12v storage battery with a 12v input not the 120v modified sine 400 watt inverter. Much more efficient and you can usually get a dual DC input fast charger. There should be no difference in pulling the same amount of current off the 12v bus directly as the Ford inverter and you would not loose the 12v-120v-12v conversion losses. (10-15% twice). in any case using the second dedicated battery for the 2k inverter is mandatory.👍👍

I could have done that however I had already used both power points and later when I decided to installed the 2nd inverter it was easier to just plug in and since then i am using better charger with it so it was just a matter of convenience. I does work well.
