24S27BUPDATE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE BCM)

Took my '23 Lariat Hybrid into the local dealer for these two (2) recalls, software updates. As of today, 08/30/24 and just turning over 15,000 miles here are my issues since the software update.

1. On the Fuel Economy screen, the avg.MPG has been frozen at 38.3 (never changes).

2. Again, on the Fuel Economy screen, when I fill up, the mi to E was always around 560-567 from new. Since the software update, I have seen 300, 400 and last fill up, 481.

3. Fuel economy since has dropped from 39+ to just under 36. That may just be the Texas hot weather with the AC always running???

4. Does anyone know what the UPDATE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE BCM was supposed to fix?

Has anyone else encountered these problems? Any insight would be helpful!

Next stop is back to the dealer for a correction hopefully!

UPDATE: 08/31/2024. Maybe the magic number was ~3,000 miles after the software update? I filled up today and everything went back to normal all at once! No issues now.

Thanks RUski

I think the computer needs some time to recalibrate the data.

I had the same issue on my eco with the fuel mileage. I have a good relationship with my dealership and the service manager told me to expect it after the recalls were done as the computer "relearns" your driving habits. It slowly went up from 300 mte (miles to empty) to 400, and back to normally 450-500 in about a month. The recalls address a concern that if a tail bulb went out, the truck wouldn't alert the driver properly. Hope that helps.

I had 3 recalls done a week ago . 1) battery charging issue . 2) brake light issue . 3) turn signal issue. Seat belt chime gone after recall . doesn't bother me at all . always buckle up anyhow . always wear bike and motorcycle helmet .

I have the same issue on my '22 EB where the miles to empty gauge suddenly dropped to average out about 300 miles as before it was closer to 400. Funny thing is I have not done any recalls yet so not sure why this happened unless it does the update on its own? I am going to take it in soon for service so I will bring it up to the dealership.

How did you get that split screen display?
Isn't that total electric miles nice, compared to brief display after key turn-off we get?

I'm sure it's in the IPC module settings somewhere, hopefully it's a currently logged value and the display of it is merely disabled.

I really wish my XLT would do a split screen like that.
