I had the same problem in NH, there were few on the lots and the dealers wanted way over MSRP so I ordered last July and have a build day of April 8 from Londonderry Ford.
We ordered from Hillsboro Ford and the next day leared about allocations here on MTC. I asked, we were 3rd in line with no allocations. They told me "If I can find a dealer with allocations go ahead and order. We can sell yours no problem". I ordered from Granger in Iowa. $1000 under MSRP. Now have a build week of March 18 from Granger and a build week of April 8 from Hillsboro! Never expected either to be built so soon!
Still not sure which I will take. They are identical builds. Out the door it's $1108 cheaper at Granger. My daughter lives in Des Moines and we are planning on going to see her this summer. So I don't consider travel into the equation.
Now have to decide. Do we spend the extra $ and buy local? Or do we have $1108 towards our vacation? LOL. Down side of Granger is it will sit in my daughters garage til June when we go to Iowa.
🤷‍♀️
Either way, I have 2 good dealers who are not marking up and charging bunches extra, or trying to force dealer add ons.

They did put a $2000 “market adjustment”. I asked them to take $500 off that and they agreed. The dealer told me they paid the MA dealer MSRP and had to see some profit. They also said that by selling it here, it will help improve their future allocation.
Ouch. $$ I am glad we really don't need a new vehicle. It didn't matter if it took a month or a year for us. So we could wait.

Dealer near me has 6 unsold units. All 2.0 Eco. Everyone is marked up at least $3000. I told him I have one on order for Xplan pricing which is $500 under MSRP. I told him I was growing impatient and would buy his for MSRP and give up my Xplan discount. He told me to take a hike, he would rather wait for someone he could take advantage of and make more money on. RIP ethics

They marked it up $1500.
Seems not bad to me for getting one right off the lot. We seem to be making regional and national progress on off-the-lot pricing.

I took delivery on my 2024 XLT Hybrid yesterday. I've been reading a lot about Maverick wait times, order process, etc., so I wonder if my purchase is unusual or just normal these days.

I've been looking to replace my 2010 Camry for a month, or so and I was pretty set on a new Corolla AWD Hybrid SE. Last Sunday I was just doing a little more research on hybrid models available and "discovered" the Maverick. I checked local stock here in northern New England and saw that the small dealership in my town had 3 on the lot. I called Monday and was told they really were not on the lot, but in transit from a larger dealership in Massachusetts. I arranged a test drive on Tuesday, decided to buy on Wednesday, and had it in my driveway Wednesday afternoon.

I took delivery from stock and it's an XLT with only floor mats as an option. I've read so much over the past 3 days about the scarcity of the Mavs that I wonder if I just got lucky, or if the hype about 9 month waiting periods is only for folks who want custom features from a Ford on-line build.

In any case, the first 30 miles has been all rainbows and unicorns. I welcome myself to this group. :)
I'm not sure about that issue either. I placed my order in late January and I will be picking up my 2024 Maverick lariat Fx4 on the 15 of this month. I'm just considering myself lucky I guess . By the way welcome to the family 😁

I had the same experience. Midwest dealer in my case.
I just requested a new X-plan PIN since I'm nearly a year into the process, but I have hope since I've gotten an estimated build date.

I have my build date week of 3/11, and according to the tracker its in production. Supposedly until the build date is filled in its not actually "in production" but after telling the salesman this it didnt matter. Here is his opportunity to not only take a sale from another dealer that he was not going to get, but make a sale at msrp...greed is a funny thing

Congrats on your purchase.

There are people with borderline finances that ordered trucks back when interest rates were lower. When their trucks finally arrive, they realize that what was barely affordable at time of order, is no longer affordable to them. So they walk.

Generally, wait time for orders is still long, especially Hybrids. But parts availability has improved, which is a good thing if you order now, vs how it was a couple years ago when demand was way above Ford's forecast, and the world was emerging from the pandemic, which screwed up just about everything back then.

If you got lucky, I did too. I didn't know Mavericks existed until I spotted one last Saturday when I was buying parts for an old F250. I spent the next day reading posts in this group, doing research on the internet and searching for all available Mavericks in the county. The next day I was back at the same Ford dealer trading in my Toyota Cross for a Lariat at MSRP. There are quite a few hybrids available here, not as many EcoBoosts.

The dealership makes money if it's sold at MSRP. There's a dealer called Granger who is selling crazy amounts of Mavericks for "$1,000.00 off MSRP". And they know they're not getting service business from people flying in to pick them up.

It's NOT that uncommon to be able to grab a Maverick by paying more than MSRP- you paid less than many. The people waiting are doing so to get theirs at a lower cost. (18month wait for mine, hybrid Lariat with lux package under $28k).

Those of us that wanted hybrids in 2022. And 2023. The xl hybrid is even harder. But fast forward 20w4 ecobost everywhere and most all dealer have xlt hybrids in stock

I didn't have the problem everyone seems have had. I ordered my xlt 4 k lux moonroof hood scoop spoiler loaded jan 26. Took delivery on June 4th. Paid msrp 32k. Best ford nashua. They have the best allocation in New England. So I have been told. I suspect its true as I got mine faster (130 days) than anyone I've seen yet. Anyone get theirs faster? My mach was another story.

It has gotten way better on ordering to delivery time. We ordered 2 in late January. 1 from Granger, 1 Hillsboro NH. Both are Hybrid XLT w Lux. We have build dates for both. Order to build date for Granger is 53 days, Hillsboro 76 days. Hillsboro had no allocations, I was 3rd in line. With a priority code if 80.
Currently, I think it is a lot more about not ordering constrained options and not being an XL. That and making sure your dealer doesn't have 30 orders in front of you. Of course make sure they also sell MSRP or lower and no stupid add ons.

I will say they most likely got it from the other dealer for MSRP it had to pay to have them shipped to their dealer, which can get expensive depending on how far away the other dealership is. so there may not be as much markup in the $1500 than you think. at MSRP the dealer only makes about $500 off of the sale.

I will also say a lot of people have backed out on purchasing once the vehicle arrives so we are seeing more stock popping up on dealers lots. for example we have 64 Mavericks currently in stock and all of those were because they were backed out on. the XLT and lariat are back out on more often than XL making XL harder to find.

Love what Granger is doing. Not only is there markup from invoice to MSRP, (not a lot on Maverick) there is dealer holdback. The reason they are doing this, besides for the good publicity, they get volume incentives, more allocations and better benefits. The more you sell the better it is for the bottom line. If I was desperate enough I’d fly out there.
