Unused factory post on positive battery terminal?

There appears to be a threaded post that is not used on the factory positive terminal clamp. I currently run 8 gauge wire directly to the post clamp but am rewiring soon with 4 gauge, could I just use that unused post and get a nut for it?

Humm, one amp of 120 v AC requires 12 amps of 12 volts DC so for a 2000 watt inverter which pulls 16.6 amps you need wire for 200 amps DC or a 2/0 wire. #4 is only good for 95 amps or a 1000 watt inverter.
That's why I run a 2200 watt gas generator, when I'm in the boonies or the 2kw battery generator with 4, 195 watt solar panels.

The battery in the Maverick is pretty crappy and undersized for a large wattage inverter.

So 10 feet of #4 wire would have .002485 ohms of resistance. That means at 135 amps it would drop .335 volts from your feed voltage in a 10 foot run. So if you can get by with just 5 feet of wire to feed the inverter #4 could work just fine even at 270 amps.

Could be a tight squeeze getting your fingers/tools in that space.

Pardon my ignorance - question for you if you're active.

Long story short, discovered my positive terminal was massively corroded, cleaned it up and replaced the battery for good measure, but I fear the positive clamp around the battery post is too loose and doesn't clasp fully anymore.

Given your photo here, can I replace just the terminal connection nearest the bottom of the image - the chunk of metal with 3 bolts, if that part is sold?

I'm far from a pro - appreciate any insight

Unbolt cable for 12V at bottom and the small 12V feed to the BMS. Replace & bolt in new.
