Deep sleep mode - and yes after voltage or SOC hits a certain point the last thing the truck should do is send off notice to Ford's servers so your app is informed.
ETA - ditto to check your phone setting for the Fordpass app notices - all it takes is looking at one notice and clicking ignore to change the setting. Should still find old ones in app under messages.

Also, everyone's truck enters sleep mode after max 75 min when all the clicking stops (or should if no problems). But Deep sleep turns off the modem finally.

You might have noticed the lights turning off sooner and sooner if the right time of year to notice, but harder to when it's light out. That's Battery Saving functions.

But since heat is bad for a battery - that could have pushed it over the edge slightly faster to read as a lower voltage, and indeed cooler could raise it just a tad to be allowed, but I'm betting once it reaches cut-off, no turning modem back on. So no amount of work on the app side matters anyway since app only talks to Ford servers - those probably won't even attempt to reach the truck if they got the notice going off-line from the truck.
Many posts have shared how the app keeps that notice, even after charging battery up - until they actually start and drive the truck, then the notice goes out the communication is back.

Curious if you are in habit of turning truck off with AC running?
Thank you that is great information. I always leave the AC on when I shut down the vehicle. Odd I am not seeing any notification now telling me that this ever happened. 38k trouble free miles other than the bad software that caused the vehicle to randomly shut down!

You need more than just the FordPass app. You also need to go into your phone's notification settings and tell it to allow notifications on top of anything else going on on the phone at the moment. Unless you specifically make those notification settings changes you'll not know how many other times your vehicle has gone into deep sleep that you are unaware of. It is guaranteed that this is not the first time. Your battery is almost assured to be sulfated and on its last leg due to chronic undercharging. If you haven't had it tested, suggest a trip to the dealer. You'll likely go away with a new battery like the rest of us have multiple times since our vehicle was new, since Ford seems incapable of fixing the charging circuit.
Just turned on notifications! Thanks

I finally went to the dealership and got a new battery for free. I haven't had the problem since, and that was 4 months ago. Other than that, I really love these trucks. Good luck with your problem. I hope it gets resolved soon.
Thank you!!

So the reason I asked about AC being left on.

There is an SSM for intermittent battery drain that involves the AC Control Module.
Perhaps you've seen one of the 50 threads on it.

I'm thinking that is the fast kind of drain that could have hit the level to disable the modem but before that last connection attempt could even happen to send that notice up - voltage was too low. Hence you getting no warning.

So while you are dealing with having battery checked - share your story and AC fan maybe didn't turn off, and ask for lookup of that SSM to get the ACCM software updated.

May actually have been related in this case. And no need to have it happen on a new battery, or a dying battery at inopportune time.

Thank you. I never got any notification even after turning notifications on in the app. I appreciate the insights. I have read through similar threads now makes sense that hitting the keypad took it out of deep sleep as well. I’m glad that I had sense to try that which is not mentioned at all in the ford troubleshooting… just the fob.

Dang; first sucks that you have had so many sleep mode issues. Second I guess that makes my app failure more mysterious. I learned my lesson to have a backup plan :)
Once I changed the battery in my 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid, I haven’t had any issues with “Deep Sleep”. Mine has acted exactly as it was supposed to before Ford used a cheap battery.

Why would you turn the AC off if you shut the vehicle off the AC turns off? There is not a bit of mention in the printed owner's manual that says one must turn the AC off.

Because from comments it appears many of us do - out of habit from past vehicles. Either AC or the whole climate control system. Not because it's stated you should.

Does the truck turn the 12V cooling fan off used with the AC?
2 posters have proven an issue with fan still running up to 30 min or more later, only when AC left on when truck turned off.

And there is an SSM for upgrading the AC Control Module software due to an intermittent 12V battery drain issue. Was that due to a fan being left on, or module not going to sleep?
Either way - truck off didn't turn some system off.

Since the OP was one of the few to actually describe a battery drain issue that occurred seemingly fast, and maybe not just the regular battery slowly but surely dying - it's a good troubleshooting question to ask.

What battery did you swap for?

How long has it been?

My 2nd battery, Duralast Gold, went 11 months before it started getting Deep Sleep again, though not as often.
