Two tone or not to two tone? That is the question...

I'm inspired by the two tone paint jobs of trucks past and present. Is this look too retro? What color combos would be best with the Maverick? Anyone tried this yet?

One grandmother owned a mid-1950s Oldsmobile Holiday in two-tone pink and white. Surprisingly snazzy look, and easy to spot in a parking lot.

My first Ford Ranger was 2 toned dark and light blue, I would love to see some of those retro color schemes make a comeback.

Myself not really sure would probably have to see a couple Mavericks with two tone paint on them before I could say yes or no. ?

I chose Cactus Grey because I drive some dusty roads, and I thought it wouldn't show dirt too badly. Now I wish I'd picked something that would offer more contrast. It's hot in Texas, so I'm playing with the idea of a white roof. Maybe adding a white bed cap would complete the look. Thoughts?

I was toying with the idea too. As opposed to the 70's style two tones (mid level sides), I was thinking more of the 50's style and did a mock up. Wanted a color that would be the 50's turquoise look with white top. The Area 51 turns out not to be blue enough for me but the Cactus gray might be a winner. As it turns out, ordered/received the Carbon grey, lol.

Honestly, I wouldn't hate a Maverick in Area 51 with a big white stripe and thin navy pinstripe splitting the two. Add a small lift with oversized white letter tires on XL steelies, and I think we're in business.
