My recall notice for my 2023 XLT 2.0 Eco showed up in Saturday's mail.
I'll check in with the dealer Monday and see what the story is on the recall "fix".

The fix is a 5 minute reprogramming of the BCM. It's been discussed for a while.

Got mine in yesterday’s mail as well. I appreciate FMC letting us know about this but I’m not worried about driving my truck without getting it fixed immediately. I’ll keep an eye on my taillights but unless I have a problem I’ll wait until my next scheduled appointment to have the dealer fix it.

Sounds like a boiler plate warning in case your dealer is not up to speed on the current mobile service methods.

I got an unsolicited call from the local dealer saying their mobile service unit was out doing Ford software updates, and when’s a good time. A marked car arrived at the appointed hour and 20 minutes later the job was done, including TPMS reset.

Aside from the turn signal issue, the cumulative updates included some other modules as well. The FDRS system automatically identifies any module that has an available software update and offers to do it at the same time.
I don't think the dealer I bought from offers mobile service but I'm going to see who does. Even if they give me a ride home and pick me up it is still a pain and you lose your truck for the day. With my Infiniti there was never a repair that could not be handled quickly- almost always while I waited.

I had the "repair" done last Friday. I told the dealer before they did the recall that I had LasFit LED tail light and turn signal bulbs and they told me that wouldn't be an Issue. When I went to pick up the truck, the turn signals inside the truck were flashing very rapidly like I had a bulb out. Outside they were flashing normally. I took it back to the dealer and they assured me they would look into it. They called me a day later and told me the malfunction was because I had LED bulbs and asked me if I wanted to price out incandescent bulbs that they would install for me. I said no, just remove the update you did to the control module so it goes back to working before you "fixed" it. I was informed that Ford wouldn't let them do that. I calmly asked, "So, let me get this straight, I brought in my perfectly working truck for you to repair it, your repair made my perfectly working truck work incorrectly, you wont reverse the repair and think I should be responsible for this?" I have yet to receive a response.

Ford has a responsibility to ensure their vehicles meet the United States Department of Transportation and Transport Canada regulations. The recall was put in place to correct a deficiency that was keeping some vehicles from meeting those requirements. Ford is only responsible for making corrections to unmodified standards. Your upgrade took your vehicle out of spec and it is your responsibility to make corrections or put the original equipment back so that the turn signals work as intended. Unfortunately, that's the way it is!

For whatever reason, starting around 2015, the ability to simply replace regular bulbs for LED bulbs in cars has changed. In my 2015 Prius, I had to purchase a complete tailight housing (expensive, but looked great!). All the necessary resisters were built in and the plug fit the stock insert. I really feel the only fix for this Maverick issue is for an aftermarket company to build a complete LED housing. The housing would be built to trick the computer into reading a non-LED signal. Just my two cents. I use to change all my bulbs in my cars to LED prior to 2015 with no issues.

So if we leave Lasfit bulbs in wondering if this will cause any problems besides the interior hyper flash?
