If you’re in AUTO mode on the HVAC, and the temp setting requires heating, the fan isn’t going to blow full speed until there is heat to blow. There isn’t any impact to how long the engine takes to warm up.

The system sends air to the floor and/or dash-top defrost vents when it decides heating is necessary, and through the dash front vents when cooling is necessary. It isn’t that complicated.
I'll take your word for it because I'm obviously not gonna hang out in the cold car to test this. My concern was not wanting to harm the engine in the long run only to take longer in fact to great the cabin.

In regards to the HVAC vent selections... Is that how it actually works by default? Ideally that's how I would like it. In fact the only time I turn off auto is to supply more heat to my feet.

In almost two years I haven't ever remote-started my truck to get it warmed up, because the heated seats/steering wheel are so quick - so I am speaking from experience. And I generally leave the AUTO fan speed on its highest setting, and it doesn't actually blow at that setting until there is heat in the engine. Because Texas, I use the remote start to pre-cool the cabin in summer A LOT. :D

Yes, that is how it works in AUTO setting. I haven't ever touched the vent selectors once to control the airflow. If I am getting air in the wrong place, I just adjust the temp a bit. For example, if I think it's too hot in winter when driving, I will adjust the dial from 70 to 66, and the system magically stops blowing air at my feet and will start giving me a breeze out of the dash. It works the other direction too, obviously.

Keep in mind this is all on a MY23, but I have no reason to think Ford changed anything about the system other than the controls for MY25+.

In regards to the wipers... Chipped the paint on my first Maverick... And damn if I didn't forget and do it the first time on this one too. Such a stupid design.

I touched it up with it paint pen before turning in my last one. Need to do the same with this one. Then I'm thinking about putting one of those rubber door strips all along the edge of the hood In case I leave the wipers up again.
I'm out of the loop here....what is the risk to the hood paint from the wipers?

I was just disappointed this morning my app told me due to the extreme cold, the vehicle was in power saving mode, and I would have to start the vehicle in person.

If you want the wipers off the windshield because it's supposed to ice or snow, and you want an easier job clearing it on your next drive.
You can follow the manual method, or manually adjust the wiper arms to reach the "service position".

And you better notice that before manually starting the truck, because they will return to "home position" below.

Now take a look at your hood and wipers and see what will happen.

No need to worry excessively over the things we had to deal with during carburetor days or even a few years ago. While today's vehicles do operate richer when cold. It's not nearly as much so as in carburetor days. Also, as much as we complain about EPA emissions regulations, they're partly responsible. The EPA requires an engine to warm up fast so it won't run rich and pollute so much. Most cooling systems are designed to warm the head cylinders significantly faster than even a few years ago. Set the heat the way you want, and remote start your maverick without worrying and overthinking. Your engine will be fine.

Just learned about this problem today and confirmed on my truck. '24 Hybrid XLT.
Remote start does not do anything with the wipers. If you lift the wipers so that ice does not freeze them to the window. And then later turn the truck on, one of two things may happen. A) the ice will hold the wipers in the frozen position and cannot move. B) Once you clear the ice and neglect to lower them to the glass, the wiper motor will slam them back into the home position and scrape the trailing edge of your hood. I have a pretty bad scuff on the passenger side; driver side so far undamaged. You can feel the damage more easily than you can see it. Repeat often enough and I expect it will eventually expose bare metal and rust.

Clarify - The wiper problem has nothing to do with Remote Start. Same would happen in normal. This is a relatively unexpected problem because generally vehicles allowed the wipers to be lifted from the home position. Maverick requires that you move them away from home in order to lift.

For aesthetic reasons, I plan to put some weather stripping or rubber hose on the wiper arms to prevent any further mistakes from causing damage.

EDIT - 2 x $3/ft of 1/2" ID heater hose split down the middle wrapped around the wiper arms.

I think the hood is aluminum. I still don't want the chipped paint to get worse so I will touch it up once it's warm enough this spring

Good to know and confirmed with magnet. Definitely not ferrous and at this price-point I am confident its not magnesium.
