I’m debating between these two low-end tonneau covers. I don’t care as much about the benefits of folding vs roll up, but I’m concerned with the reports I’ve heard that the Truxport roll-up is a bit short. Is the Gator SFX trifold any better in that regard? I’m not expecting either to be completely waterproof but I’d like them to be as close as possible.

The gator is short too, but it will cover the entirety of the bed. It's just really tight.

It leaks though, or at least mine does. The seals at the hinges are garbage and roll up on themselves. The corners also use foam, which can get frozen to the truck under certain (But rare) circumstances.

I'm kind of wishing I'd invested more at this point, but what is done is done.

I got the Tonneau that Ford offered. Yes it is the most expensive but it has features that Weathertech and Gator didn't have, that was the Ford backed warranty as well as the fitment to the truck. I pondered this for a couple of weeks after getting the truck but I am very happy with it and there are a couple of features that I wanted which were only offered with this cover. It is a folding cover with security latches at each fold, it secures tightly over the tailgate and when the tailgate is locked it will take a crowbar and more to get to the contents of the bed which will kick the security system into horn blasts and light flashes.
It has only rained once since I had it installed, may as well let the dealership install it for the money I spent, and I couldn't find any water in the bed so it seems to work as advertised.

Spend a little bit more and be happy for years = Truxedo Pro X15. Had mine for about 6 weeks now. Very low profile, high quality mat finish material. Looks fantastic. Could not be happier, money well spent!

I have the Truxport on my Maverick. Fits well, no gaps, and keeps my bed completely dry in normal weather and through a touchless high pressure car wash. Looks good and appears well made. No complaints.

The Gator isn't short, fits well. It covers the bed entirely, just not the entire tailgate....which it doesn't have to. I have mine completely against the back window and the tailgate seal still meets the tailgate like it should. I've had mine for nearly 2 months now and love it. Hinges are fine. Everything is fine. It does allow some water ingress, but try finding a completely water tight.......anything besides a submarine or something intentionally submersible. I've gone through several storms and have kept my cargo completely dry. Works fine. Really, for the type of people who are buying a 20K utilitarian small truck, you should have no issues with the Gator trifold. Lots of people seem to have issues installing it.....for whatever reason. Just read the directions and it'll literally take a few minutes to install. For 100 something dollars, I'll take it.

I installed mine this weekend, I have the Ford version of the TruXport.

I installed it as directed, with the included seal strip applied to the area uncovered by the spray in bedliner, the aft edge aligned with the aft edge of the bed. I have about 7/8" to an inch visible between the rear window and the tonneau. That appears to match the HD676's positioning.
I agree that this is a great fit. It does not need to be longer, the area between the cover and rear glass acts as channel to shed water.

We had strong rain yesterday with some light flooding. I checked for leaks following my 30 mile commute in the rain and it was bone dry.
