I have seen earlier posts about the Truxedo Truxport tonneau covers not fitting the Maverick well but I have not seen anything lately. I had a Truxport on a Toyota Tacoma and it worked and fit well.

Has anyone added a Truxport to their Maverick lately? How does it fit? Any issues with the cover being too short? I plan to use weather stripping all the way around to help with leaks.

I got one and installed it back in April (thanks to a RealTruck MTC discount). It's been 8 months and I like it. I would agree that it's just a tad short, but as long as you properly line it up, it fits and covers well.

The only time it leaks is if I go through a car wash (and it's just been a little dribble at each of the front corners). I suspect that has more to do with the pressure and angle of the water jets than anything. It does not leak at all from just rain (or even rain and wind).

The package comes with plenty of weatherstripping and foam inserts for the corner pieces.

I put one on back in March. I would buy it again. I used RealTruck. I added the little piece of foam in the side rail joint as has been suggested previously. I used the foam on the bulkhead per instructions. I mounted it as far towards the tailgate as seemed practical, with still a good seal on the cab bulkhead. The side clamps for the bed rail need to be located at flat areas under the rail - don’t overthink it, just choose locations that seem smoother underneath by feel. I did use a torque wrench for the side clamps - do NOT put them on with maximum tightness like a lug nut for goodness sake! I don’t notice any leaks from the cover. I added a tailgate seal kit from Amazon. All the dust and water seems to come in there. The tailgate gaps are not consistent and vary greatly. My tailgate seal looks like a third grader art project, but I think it keeps out 90% of stuff now. I think Ford let all the bed tolerances add up and resolve out back at the tailgate gap (remember my third grader reference?) I am happy with it, no complaints. I take it thru the car wash. I only notice the little tailgate leaks. I like the “sits on top of the rails” design, the extra inch or two is just perfect for me, and I have used the height a few times now (empty 30 gal garbage can on its side, shop vac). When the top material dies on this I will buy the same thing again. (I had a Jeep with a soft top, this stuff just doesn’t last forever when you park outside in New England).

I know I could do a search but since you mentioned it - do you have a link for the tailgate seal kit from Amazon?

It came with a long length of one size seal plus a short length of some fatter seal. I am a newbie as my name says, I really stink at links sometimes. Here are some of the cut and paste words from Amazon that should help find it. ESI Ultimate Tailgate Seal with Taper Seal Compatible with Ford Maverick.

UPC: 854907008801

  • NEW & IMPROVED as of March 1, 2024 addresses lower tailgate bottom. The original and patented Tailgate Seal compatible with Ford Maverick

Thanks - Found it! Picking up my cover from the Ford dealer this Monday and will see how bad it leaks without any mods.

I have one. I had a hard time being able to latch it with the tailgate closed. With it open it latched fine. I just let it stretch a bit and settle in. Now it works fine. I go through the touchless awash. Get very little water in.

Yup I find it harder to latch with tailgate closed, so I latch the cover then close the tailgate as the instructions suggest, and that is exactly what I wanted. I open and close the tailgate more frequently, and just leave the tonneau closed, and it works well for me. Some of the more high end tuxedo product directions I read seemed to prefer you pop the cover every time you open the tailgate.
