I just wanted to throw this out there, in case anyone is trying to pick a tonneau cover. I had the Ford accessory soft roll-up tonneau cover (Truxedo) for about 16 months/15k miles. I had no problems with it. It did leak at the front bulkhead when washing the Maverick, but remained dry when driving through rain.

I recently swapped to the Gator soft tri-fold because I needed something that could be quickly removed/installed (also bought the Flated topper). I didn't realize Gator was made by Extang? The Gator was easy to install. In general, the actual vinyl seems a lot more thin/flimsy than the Ford/Truxedo. It also flops around a lot more while driving. Also, water will pool on it (sag) if parked during rainstorms. It's also a bit shiny and textured -- doesn't look as good IMO. I do like how easy it is to fold and remove. Also, it doesn't leak as bad when washing. In hindsight, I wish I would have spent more and gotten a hard tri-fold.

Sorry to hear that you're not happy with your Gator, perhaps you can sell it locally to recoup some money and get a hard tri-fold. There are so many options and choices with these covers so hopefully you can find one that ticks all your boxes.

I've had a few Truxedo covers over the years and always been happy so when I saw the X-15 it was love at first sight, the soft roll up suits me very well.

I love my Gator trifold, and I park outside. I guess I prefer something that doesn't leak over something that's matte.

Just put a Rough Country flip up trifold on mine. Really nice bed cover.

I have had the Gator trifold on mine for 2 years now! I park outside and it has been great! Still holding up without any issues!

Thanks all. I'm sure I'll keep the Gator. It's not "bad" or anything. I just prefer the vinyl and appearance of the Truxedo. I really like how quick and easy it is to fold up.

I ordered the Truxedo Sentry hard roll up tonneau cover almost 2 years ago & am very happy with it!
