I had just got through shopping at our local grocery store, when I went to put the groceries inside the cab. The door unlocked like usual, when I grabbed the driver's door handle, an I loaded in all of the groceries.

When I went to turn it on, nothing. No power to anything. No lights (interior or exterior), no horn, no ignition, nothing. Totally dead.

My wife came and picked me up (only 10min away from home) and I had her bring some tools. I checked the battery under the rear seat, 12.5v. Checked all of the fuses in the passenger footwell, all is good. Checked power to that distribution block, it has power. So my guess is a module or the ECU failure, but that's just a guess.

So now I am waiting for the tow truck so it can be towed to my house. All of the dealerships around here are closed on Sundays, plus they are all closed on Monday as well. It'll have to be towed to my home for now until I can get it to the dealer. This is my eighth Ford vehicle and this is the first time I've ever had any of them breakdown on me.

I'm a little frustrated but I know things could always be worse. Just thought I'd pass this along. I'll try and keep you all updated on how things progress.

Thanks for the info on that issue. I'm not 100% sure if that's my problem but it really looks like that it is. I guess I'm one of the many others.

Mine died as well. Replaced battery and updated all software, still dead. They called me and told me to remove the truck from the ford app, the dealer kept it over a weekend and it was fine Monday, no codes tripped. Turns out the app was over communicating with the truck, draining the battery. I also turned off the trucks Wi-Fi.
I feel your pain, new truck just dies, leaving you stranded. Mine died in my driveway at least.

No your dealer is just making sh*t up. The FordPass app is not the problem.

Wiggle the cable connection and see if you are able to start it.

I tried wiggling it around a little bit and then pretty firmly. Feels pretty solid still. No dice.

With that and the fact that your battery was reading 12.5V, it definitely sounds like a different issue.

Note! you have to pop that black cover down to see what is pictured here. BTW the red cover to the right is where you would jump start it. Do NOT jump from the wire in the picture.

My Maverick was towed to the dealer today. I'll make an update once I find out what's going on.
