I think he is referring to "new vehicles".
Sure, but op says dealer "refuses to mark his vehicles up above the sticker price."

For me, all new cars have a manufacturer srp. When it is used, it changes to market srp.All vehicles have an msrp.
Ok, so he will presumably sell it for more than that, which doesn't really square with "my dealer refuses to mark his vehicles up above the sticker price ".
Nice. I'm doing the same exact thing. Except my truck only has 9,000 miles on it in 14 months... Maybe 10K by the time my 23 comes in. I'm sure my dealer would lowball me for the trade in but they will match any offer I give them from other sources like CarMax, etc. I'm actually going to make some money on my deal. My 22 was paid in full. Pretty much the only reason I'm switching is for the profit. I also like one more year on the warranty and a different color. It's like getting a brand new truck, free paint job and a check. At least some good came out of covid LOL.So after much thinking on my part, I decided to trade my Maverick in. Next week I will be the proud owner of…… another Maverick. I have a 22 and since June I already put 26,000 miles on it. I wanted to put an order in for a 23 but was told they’re not taking anymore orders. I was gonna get an extended warranty for it, but my dealer called me and said he would give me first dibs on a new 22 Alto blue XLT FX4 that just showed up. Best part is, even though the new truck has a higher sticker price than my first truck, my truck with 26,000 miles is worth more on trade-in then a brand new dealer sold Maverick. That is because my dealer refuses to mark his vehicles up above the sticker price. So I actually drove my truck the 26k for free (excluding any interest I paid of course). I never get deals like this so I jumped at it. Only problem I see is the new snow tires I bought for my Maverick are 225/17 but the FX4 rims are 235/17. I hope they fit without a speedometer difference.
More then likely he is marking up the used price and not the MSRP as his new vehicles. All vehicles have an msrp.
