Totaled 2023 XL Maverick - From a Fender Bender

Hit from behind by an old Ford 150 while stopped at a Traffic Light.

Cracked the front windshield right up the middle, bent both sides of the chassis, took out the rear suspension, the roof was creased down the middle. Over 26K to repair.

That was not a fender bender

Unlike old Chevys, the Mav has a proper headrest and properly-built seat bolsters to prevent whiplash injuries. And I would expect that the personal injury claims are way down when compared to the more rigid full-frame trucks that exert much higher G-forces on you in an accident. Since personal injury costs are tha major part of an accident claim, the Mav should be much cheaper to insure as a result.

same exact accident happened to me - older Chevy 1500 hit me going about 40 mph while I was at a complete stop at light - but I was in a 2019 Nissan Frontier - $400 damage to replace rear bumper - LOL

No. Here's a video of a 40 MPH crash :
There's NO WAY a Nissan Frontier survives a crash like that with only a bent bumper

Just yesterday I watched 4 drivers making a left turn on a red light take the right a way from two lanes of traffic awaiting the intersection to clear. First in line on the opposing traffic lane was a local police officer, head down tapping on a phone. Not an iota of awareness.

Yet just three weeks earlier, two elderly couples awaiting a green light were killed at this intersection when a cretin failed to stop in time and pushed their car into 60 mph traffic.
