If you go with the hard tri fold I would suggest buying it after you buy the truck and not order the ford one. It’s very expensive compared to ones that look identical and can usually buy for half the price. First hand experience here but I jumped the gun a little early.

I have the original Ford Logo’d example that rolls up. It’s been sturdy and mostly water tight (two corners of the tailgate have big gaps and the cover can’t contain it all). My felt came off in like a week of having it and that pissed me off. I put in the time to use goo b gone and cleaned up the sticky as my dealership wouldn’t take the cover back or exchange it. Outside of that I like it a lot. The only thing is when rolled up it gets real hot to touch in the NC sun with the exposed aluminum frame. The new ones have a plastic cover so that shouldn’t be an issue anymore.

We went with the hard tri-fold for our first Mav, and my wife likes it, but I don't. Fair enough, it's going to be hers once our new one gets in. But I discovered I wanted to remove and stow it sometimes, and that thing is a real pain to deal with. Plus the brackets that hold it still eat up some space at the front of the bed

I was considering some of the roll-up options, but again, needs to be removable, and I couldn't get a look at the OEM ones.. Someone near my business has an XL with the soft tri-fold, so I got to mess with it a little, and I really like it, so I'm getting that on the new one. Worst case I yank it off and replace it with a rollup....provided the rollup can be removed and stowed in the passenger compartment easily.

Sadly it's showing unavailable on Amazon
Ebay is still showing available.

I watched the video and that seems like a damn nice rollup. If I didn't have my tri-panel, bi-fold I would definitely consider it for $550. I may still change mine to that rollup.
Looks like a decent choice.

Huh. Seems like an interesting lower cost option. I have the BAK X4s, and the functionality here looks basically the same.

Regarding tri-fold vs. rollup, I have both on different trucks. There are some small pros/cons to each but I think the rollup is easier to use.

The Perogon fold up was really interesting. folds like an accordion. I bet it is expensive. I could not find it.

A lot of places won't make their stuff for the Maverick because of the design of the bed (it's unibody and not a seperate unit...I'm guessing some of these accessor makers rely on them being seperate pieces).

I ordered one for my Ranger, based on that review. It is supposed to arrive on Tuesday and I should be able to get it installed next week. The price when I ordered it was $569 for a 6' bed, but it's now at $642. Still a bargain compared to the major brand prices, though. I'll come back to this thread and let you know what I think once it's installed.

I had one on my new then 2003 c1500 and I think the company had just started. But it was cumbersome.

Those of you who ordered the TLaps cover, be sure to chime in. I was checking it out when it was $530 but I waited too long and it's up to $560 or something. No biggie. But I was trying to figure out of it would work with the Elevate rails. Looks like it will based off the pictures and that dude's little video.

I paid $581 on ebay. Where did you get it for $560 out of curiosity?
