Tonneau cover scam

Beware of various persons advertising a roll up tonneau cover for $200. Located supossedly in Springfield , MA. Myself and a few others have paid for this same cover. They insist on using Zelle, Veemo Cashap as there is no recourse for fraud, once the money is sent then it is gone for good. Have decided if I purchase anything especially off Facebook I will use Paypal only.

No doubt. I ordered some Morel Maximo Components on Amazon because the price was $50 below MSRP. Shortly after, I researched the Seller and found they were known to sell counterfeit Morels.
Amazon could not cancel my order because it was a 3rd party seller, but luckily after contacting the seller, they cancelled my order, and I was refunded.

Definitely would NEVER buy anything shipped off Facebook. My Dad bought some shoes and received an empty box. No recourse for a refund.

Local Facebook market purchases and selling, I've had no issues.I just bought an engine hoist a few days ago.

I may have misunderstood this - I was thinking how Amazon is tightening up on returns these days. I have never been (knowingly) scammed there.

What's perhaps the most frustrating thing about Facebook groups and marketplace is that of the options you have to report to group admins or Facebook, SCAM is not one of them. A whole bunch of categories relating to how the post hurt your feelings, and spam. Scams aren't spam. Spam is posting irrelevant or repetitive crap. A scam is fraud and I personally don't think FB is doing much about it.

A lot of counterfeits on Amazon. In particular they tend to group together stock of the same items. So it doesn't even matter if you're buying from a reputable third party seller because there can be fraudulent versions in the stock pool. They're still pretty good about returns on that score, but I wouldn't buy anything where your life depends on it being the real deal and wary of the fine details on high dollar items known for cloning.
