Mine didn’t do that. However, I did had to fiddle with it, for alignment. Has 5yr warranty, so not too worried about.
Every cover has pros and cons. I found issues with every cover out there.

I am wondering what peoples opinions are related to hard tonneau covers as I want one that is water tight/proof, can be washed without concern through car wash, and does not need to be closed AFTER the tailgate is closed.
  1. Ford Hard Tonneau cover installed by dealer, would it be covered by truck warranty as a dealer installed option?
  2. Ford Hard Tonneau cover VS aftermarket?
  3. Which Hard Tonneau brand/make/model cover to provide water tight/proof protection?
  4. Which Hard Tonneau brand/make/model cover to hold up to car washes?
  5. Which Hard Tonneau brand/make/model cover that can be closed BEFORE tailgate is closed?
Thanks, have a AWD EcoBoost with towing package and Lariat package being built week of Nov 8th.

I’ve got the extang trifecta signature cover and overall love it. Wanted a hard trifold, but for less than 1/2 the price and easier to remove, it’s a huge win.

Whichever you decide, PM realtruck, on this forum. Alex will give you a great price, well below the price on their website. And their 30 day return policy is awesome. I first got the Truxedo Pro X15, but just work well for me. Return was a breeze. Ended getting the BAK X4S.
Tried to PM Realtruck, got no response. Maybe it takes some days for them to respond?

Still trying to decide between a hard tri-fold and a soft top.

He doesn’t work weekends, other than that he has been responsive. Mondays he can be slammed.

I started with a soft and didn’t like it. Went hard rolling.

The BAKFlip MX4 usually has drain tubes but wondering how that will work with the Maverick and the unibody construction.
I asked my dealer about that as my truck was ordered with one. He said there are small locations to punch out that the tubes can go into if you don't want it draining in the bed. (I'm getting a cover, why do I want water in the bed? HELLO! LOL) He said the cutouts are large, so he will have the openings drilled out at the proper size instead which will help the tubes stay in better.

When I get my Maverick, I'll probably go with this Trident FastFold Tonneau Cover. Looks just as good as the other soft folding covers that cost twice as much, and has excellent reviews. Easy on/off is a plus for me, and did I mention it costs about 1/2 what the others do?

How about the Gator SFX? Great price just trying to keep the crud and water out of the bed. Don't care for those that you have to add rails with those clamps. They seem to always get in the way.

On each side of the bed near the cab there are rubber seals in some holes . you just pull the rubber seals out and insert drain tubes .

I've been watching video after video. Hard cover, soft cover. Pros and cons of each. Some of those cheap vinyl tri-folds flap going highway speed. Suggest you try to watch some YT reviews on whatever cover you decide. I'll probably go with the Extang Trifecta 2.0 Signature series if I decide to go soft cover. Been looking at the Undercover Triad if I decide to go hard cover.

Thanks I has a soft tri fold on my F150. Not sure the brand. It was fine until my son did not latch the front and it blew off. Thank God no one was hurt. Will check out the extang.

Decided to go with the Undercover Triad hard cover. Was $819, and with NY robber baron tax, it came out to $884. Ordered it from Carid and they shipped it out within 24 hours. The cover has an evenly distributed weight limit of 600 lbs making it one of the strongest covers in it's price range. Just put it on tonight so haven't had a chance to take it through the car wash and see if or where it might leak.

Anyone try one of the Amazon covers? I saw this one on Amazon but can't seem to find any reviews or pictures of it on an actual Maverick. The Maverick they have pictured with it on appears to be photo shopped.

Very similar if not identical to the kikitco one I bought from amazon.

Looks similar, but isn't identical. Mine is made in the U.S., it has curved edges and has a 600lb weight limit vs. 300 lbs for yours. I looked at that one you linked but couldn't find any information other than that ad or videos of it being installed so I passed. Undercover has a good reputation for after sale support so I spent the extra $$$$. Do you have pictures of yours installed? Might help others looking for a tonneau cover. I was looking at an Extang Trifecta signature series soft and that was almost as much as that hard cover ($497). Since I live in a snow state, I wanted to go with a hard vs. a soft.
