TOAD / Dingy Hybrid wiring Question About Rear License Tag Light

I'll be using 3rd party wiring and Diodes etc. Does the License Tag Light illuminate when the tail lights are On without adding additional wiring etc. to the tag light ? I know my CR-V setup DID NOT until I ran wring and another diode for the Tail Light. Concern is I know several RV owners that were pulling at night and got pulled over for no Tag Light.

I just used a wireless trailer light system on mine so I didn't do any wiring out of fear Ford would decline an electrical type issue under warranty.
