Sorry for posting a silly question on my first post. I am setting up a Hybrid to flat tow
behind my RV. I clearly understand how to wire the diodes by splicing in at the tail light assemblies. But, the truck came with factory hitch and trailer wiring harness. Is there any reason you know of that I could not forego removing the taillights and just splice in the wiring with diodes at the backside of the factory trailer plug?

Thanks

I answered my own question. First wiring in at the location would have kept the truck from powering the coach lights, but it would NOT have protected the truck wiring from the coach input.

And, I applied 12V to the plug to see if it would power the taillights. It did not

I have the diodes. I took a screen shot of your wiring diagram from another post. I was just thinking in public. I will also run a charge line with circuit breaker and diode.

Thanks for the help. And thank you for your previous posts on setting up the hybrid for towing .They were very very helpful.

You are welcome. When I ran my charge wire through the 6-pin from the motorhome, I used this Hopkins 39332 - Diode and fuse.

Here's a PDF I put together with some pointers on the DEMCO install, if you haven't seen it.

Brad, I can’t find the thread about where you bought the baseplate since Demco’s site doesn’t show it as available.

I always struggle with the search function. BTW my Wonder RL pulled the race car this weekend without breaking a sweat (CAT scales proved I could easily stay below the gross weight, thanks for your LTV posts on that). Now I can see how towing the Maverick will be a cinch.

DEMCO has been on-again, off-again about selling the baseplate. Daniel and I gave them enough heartburn last September that they were contemplating not selling direct! (We did buy direct, due to needing them quickly.)

They sell through Tweety's and eTrailer. Last I heard, they had not verified for themselves that a 2024 was the same as a 2022-2023, and were telling folks the 2024 wasn't available. We've had folks here put it on a 2024 successfully already.
Baseplate is DEMCO 9519360 $623.45 at https://tweetys.com/search.aspx?find=demco+9519360

The easiest way to get diode wiring help is to watch the Etrailer installation videos for Maverick. There are 2 or 3 of them and each installer does it slightly dfferently.
I generally followed their lead and put a bit more weather protection with dielectric grease, heat shrink and wire loom. They mention wire colors - you can verify with a test light.

I answered my own question.
For future reference anybody that is setting up a tow vehicle consider the cost advantage and the simplicity of simply buying a wireless trailer light system. Mine last 8 hours before we recharge at night and I just attachment magnetically to the tailgate. They were on sale at Walmart online for $50 and no hassle with wiring.

Anyone have success with install the diode wiring kit on a 2025 Maverick? We installed it but only the top portion of the tail lamp flashes with the turn signal instead of top and bottom when the Maverick is not connected to RV and in neutral tow. If you look at all of eTrailers diode wiring videos, some show top and bottom flashing and others show just the top even though all are 2025 Mavericks. Is this how it is supposed to work when the BCM is not running in neutral tow?

Just finished setting up my 25 AWD Hybrid Maverick for flat tow (traded in my 23 FWD Hybrid). First one had some weird issues with the diodes and the maverick computer (according to the dealer’s service guys). Decided this time to install separate light sockets without using diodes. Just used the top lens but could have done both of them if I was “in the mood.” After drilling pilot holes with a 1/8 bit, used a 1” hole saw to mark the circle, 3/8” bit for the notches, and then finished the hole with the 1” saw. Used my dremel to match the tabs on the light socket and it goes in and twists nice and tight. Picked up the 1157 bulb sockets at AutoZone—right off the rack. Not counting the tools, was about $25 total. Oh—remember to stuff a rag in the housing before drilling—the plastic chips will end up all over the inside of the housing.
