I bought a 2025 hybrid to tow behind my motor home first problem it needs a different base plate than 22-24. I'm still waiting for base plate
Also I hear that the invisi brake and stay and play have problems with brake system. I'm thinking about getting a NSA ready brute with surge
brake any thought or experiences

I purchased the RoadMaster Baseplate and Components along with a Nighthawk Tow Bar for my 2025 Maverick Lariat AWD Hybrid installation scheduled for 5/21 but I have not decided on a brake system yet so I’ll watch this post to get recommendations - thanks

I’m in the same situation with my 25 Hybrid, currently leaning towards the blue ox base plate, originally was looking towards the RVI Shadow brake now looking at the stay n play duo which appears the pressure can be better adjusted.

I just got a 2025 Lariat to do the same thing. I already had a Blue Ox tow bar. I got a Roadmaster Base Plate installed and got the Roadmaster to Blue Ox adapters.

They also set me up with the Blue Ox Patriot brake.

It seems to be a pain to get it adjusted right. It locked up the brakes on my Maverick at a couple stops but the breaker had not been adjusted properly by the RV place. I mostly figured it out, but still have to dial in the settings.

The Maverick is great as a toad. Getting it in neutral tow is a breeze. I was just a bit cautious with it being back there.

It got pretty dirty on my way home so I'll have to look at the Roadmaster Defender maybe.

I have a 2024 Maverick with the Road Master set up and the RVi braking system. Could not be any happier with the performance. Be sure to run the battery charging system from your motorhome.

I have all Roadmaster equipment on my 23 XLT. No problems with the invsi-brake, or any of the components. Invisi-brake box mounts under drivers seat, so that space gets used up. No big deal. I have about 3,000 miles towing. Only problems I have had were I forget (twice now) to use my check list when going out of tow mode to "normal" You get a message if I remember about "still enabled", when you are not in tow mode. The second time, the system "locked up" the shift selector. So I disconnected the negative cable and let it sit for several minutes (the usual fix). Nope. Did not work this time! I played around with controls and noticed my radio would come on, my engine would start! Everything worked with battery cable disconnected. Huh??? So I walked back to motorhome to acquire some "liquid" smart juice (bourbon) and glanced down at connections. Had 7 pin still all connected up to Mav. DUH. Unpluged connector (also disconnected positive cable just to be sure), drank some smart juice and went back to car. Everything back to normal. Roadmaster is good product. We drove over to Vancouver Washington as it is only about 6 hours and had ours installed. They recommend you get there when they open, spend the night there (they give you 120V power in parking lot) And we were out of there by about 10 am. Very nice and profesional job. Good luck!

Excellent information I have my installation scheduled for 5/27 and I did purchase the charge line as well - getting excited to tow this thing in mid June and give my 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ a much deserved restšŸ‘

I got 22 lariat with the rvi brake shadow and have 1000 miles and dozen or so hook ups. Works great out of the box, no need to adjust any pressure. The only thing con with the system is that when I'm not towing it seems to drain battery, so I just pull the main fuse.

Also had some operator error problems with neutral tow mode at first, but I printed the procedure out of the owner's manual, laminated it and keep it in the console for reference. Following the neutral tow mode procedure exactly has eliminated errors. Now have a bit over 15k miles towing the Maverick and very happy.

Take a look at etrailer.com, they have installation videos for all of the baseplate they sell. The instructions Raod Maste provided were not very useful.
